Losing Express Script Program Affects Walgreens Customers

This post brought to you by Walgreens. All opinions are 100% mine.

When I lived in Dalton, I was a regular customer at Walgreens. Not only did I shop there, but I filled my prescriptions there as well.

Now that I’ve moved, we don’t have a Walgreens in town and I have had to go elsewhere for my drug store needs, so I haven’t kept abreast of news regarding Walgreens and Express Script. Walgreens tried to negotiate terms with Express Script to continue as part of its pharmacy provider network last year and, when the two parties weren’t able to reach an agreement, the contract between the two was terminated as of Dec. 31, 2011. This affects both Walgreens and Duane Reed stores.

Now, patients on Express Script plans have to change their pharmacists and drive farther to get their prescriptions filled, which can be a hassle with hectic schedules. In an effort to help customers, Walgreens is offering a special discount on an annual membership in its Walgreens Prescription Savings Club. For $10 a year, a family membership will cover a spouse and all dependent children age 22 and younger. Individuals can join for $5. Club members receive discounts on prescriptions, flu shots, pet prescriptions, nebulizers and diabetic supplies. There are also bonuses when you purchase Walgreens brand prodcts and photo finishing services.

This post brought to you by Sprint. All opinions are 100% mine.

I keep saying I’m going to switch cell phone providers. I get SO frustrated SO often with our current provider (you know, dropped calls, bad customer service), but I haven’t actually done anything about it. Part of the reason is that both of our families have the same provider, which means we get free calls to everyone in our family. That is a nice perk, but sometimes I don’t think it’s worth the hassle.

I’ve been looking at a couple of companies to switch to, and Sprint is one of them. And, the fact that I’ve been thinking about switching from my iPhone to an Android means it would be easier to switch. Joe loves his Android, and I know others who love theirs as well, and they seem to have fewer bugs and issues than I do with my iPhone.

For a limited time, Sprint is offering free Androidâ„¢ powered EVO 4G devices with free activation for new lines and free shipping. The only Android I’ve had experience with is the HTC Sense, which Joe has, but I’ve heard good things about the Evo as well.

Who is your cell phone provider? Are you happy with your service? Anyone used Sprint before?

Discounts for Veterans

This post brought to you by DollarGeneral. All opinions are 100% mine.

While we should all remember on a daily basis what our veterans have done for our country, there is one day set aside each year to honor those who served our country.

Yesterday was Veterans Day and, while I don’t have any relatives who served in the armed forces, I do have some friends who did, and I am very grateful for what they have done for us. Every year, numerous restaurants and stores throughout the country do their part to honor veterans and active military personnel by giving them free meals and discounts on products on Veterans Day and throughout the weekend.

One of those retailers is Dollar General, which offered a 10 percent discount for veterans, active military and their families on Saturday with no coupon needed. There also is a Dollar General’s Veteran’s Day discount for everyone with a 10 percent discount available for online shopping. just use the code VETERANSDAY at checkout.

And, throughout the month of November, Dollar General is offering military care packages for purchase online with free shipping to any address in the United States, including AFO and FPO addresses. You can choose between a 12-item package for $12 or an 18-item package for $30. Want to see how much care packages mean to those serving our country? You can check out some thank you videos here: http://www2.dollargeneral.com/Ads-and-Promos/Salute-the-Troops/Pages/index.aspx or on the Dollar General Facebook page.

It’s nice that there is one day set aside each year to honor those who have served our country, but it’s really something that we should be doing every day.

New Option for Keep Food Cold

This post brought to you by PackIt. All opinions are 100% mine.

Picture 17

If we are traveling home from our parents’ houses or I am driving a good ways after getting some perishable from the store, I like to use cooler bags with freezer packs to keep the food cold, especially with the hot weather we’ve been having lately here in Georgia. However, freezer packs only stay cold for a certain amount of time, and I always have to remember to bring them along. Sometimes, I forget, and we either have to see if someone has a couple we can borrow or we’re out of luck.

One thing I’d like to try is the PackIt. It might not work for bringing food home from our parents’ houses necessarily, but it would be great to have for taking a lunch to the park or some of the play places where I take Lucy. It also would be handy for when I bring perishables home from the store. I love the fact that it stays cold longer than most other lunch bags. Check out this video on PackIt.

And, one of the best parts is the fact that you can fold it up, which means it takes up much less storage space than my current lunch bags. And, right now, there is a BOGO offer going on, so you can get two PackIt lunch boxes for the price of one!

So, what do you think about this kind of lunch bag? What would you use a PackIt for, and why do you think it would be better than other lunch bags on the market?

The Cuteness Challenge

This post brought to you by Puppies vs. Babies. All opinions are 100% mine.

PvB-CuteDar-Green-300x250-Backup.jpgI love looking at pictures of adorable babies. Honestly, I don’t think there’s anything cuter than a cute baby! And, I know some people feel the same way about puppies.

That’s why Animal Planet is trying to figure out which is cuter — babies or puppies — by holding a Puppies vs. Babies online contest. The contest runs until Nov. 23, and the winning puppy or baby will get $5,000! I wish I had known about this Puppies vs. Babies contest because, as we all know, my baby is adorable, and I know she totally would have won. I would totally bring on the smack talk!

Since I didn’t get to enter Lucy, I figured I’d still go ahead and browse through the pictures. There is an ADORABLE picture of a baby in a bear suit, and I decided that baby was getting my vote because it reminded me of Lucy. She wore a bear suit last year for Halloween and was super adorable. There are tons of cute pictures of puppies, too.

Check out the contest and let me know who you voted for! For those of you with little ones, don’t you wish you had known about this sooner, too??
