Pre-paid Cell Phones

This post brought to you by TracFone. All opinions are 100% mine.

Joe is an avid runner. He does several short-to-medium-length runs a week, and on the weekends, he does his long run.

And, when he runs, he definitely needs to take a cell phone with him. He’s been chased by dogs and has to deal with people driving on these country roads in the dark, and it’s necessary for him to be able to get a hold of me and for me to be able to get a hold of him.

However, we don’t really like him running with his Android phone. I would hate for anything to happen to it with the sweat from his run or if it accidentally got dropped. We’re thinking about getting something like a TracFone that you can use and pay as you go. We don’t need a monthly plan. We just need something that we can prepay for a certain number of minutes and then go. And, something that won’t really upset us if he drops it. I’d like to know if there are any real TracFone customers who use their phones like we are planning to.

What I didn’t realize is that there are so many features with the TracFone, like being able to have Internet access and a full QWERTY keyboard. We definitely don’t need those features for what we want to use it for, but for other customers, it’s great. There are some great testimonials from real TracFone customers

Deals Outside the Grocery Store

This post brought to you by Dollar General. All opinions are 100% mine.

Most of you know about some of the great deals I get when I grocery shop. However, there are tons of deals to be had at stores other than grocery stores and even besides drug stores.

One store I tend to frequent is the Dollar General. I’ve been able to get some killer deals there before, like $1 Airwick air fresheners. That is my kind of deal. One other thing I like about Dollar General is that they put out a ton of $5 off a $25 purchase of 20 percent off your order coupons. Those come in super handy, especially when you have other store and/or manufacturer coupons to use.

My daughter isn’t in school yet, but that doesn’t mean I don’t shop for school supplies. There are plenty of school supply items that we use regularly here at home, and I’m not about to pay full price for any of them. The $3 workbooks and crayons, and $4 markers are definitely my kind of things to purchase. And, when you add in manufacturer’s coupons, you can get yourself a great deal. And, in addition to their already great prices, they’ve put out some 20 percent off your school supply purchase Dollar General Back to School coupons, which will come in super handy. Get more of your Back to School needs for less at Dollar General.

Awesome Deal on Glasses

This post brought to you by Zenni Optical. All opinions are 100% mine.

Even though my daughter is not school-age yet (thank goodness!), I have been watching my friends get their kids ready to head to school. Most of my friends’ kids are either starting Pre-K or Kindergarten, and everyone’s been looking on good deals for school supplies. It’s a good thing some of our local grocery stores have been having some fabulous sales. And, combining those with coupons means SUPER cheap back to school supplies.

I know several of you guys have kids in school now. Do your kids wear glasses? Zenni Optical has SUPER cheap glasses when compared with the prices at optometrist offices. I haven’t ordered from Zenni yet, but I plan to get Joe a pair of glasses. He’s due for new glasses, and I’m not about to squander a chance to save money on prescription glasses. If Lucy ever has to wear glasses (which I hope she won’t, but considering Joe and I both need glasses, who knows), I’ll be getting hers from Zenni, too. It’s easy on the budget and, with the way that kids break things, there’s no way I’d spend a lot of a child’s glasses.

So, for those of you with kids in school, what did you do to save money on supplies this year?

Finding Good Jeans

This post brought to you by Express. All opinions are 100% mine.

One thing I HATE shopping for is jeans. I can’t ever seem to find any that fit me how I like. Now that I’m in my 30s (and a bit larger than I used to be), I don’t like jeans that hang down below the waist because they show off my fatty areas more.

This didn’t used to be a problem for me, though. I used to love buying new jeans, especially Express jeans. Back in my thin days, I loved shopping there. They have a great selection of women’s jeans that are super flattering. My favorite styles are the bootcut jeans/flare jeans/wide leg jeans. If I had a better body now, I would totally rock the jeggings that are so popular. They are super cute!

And, guess what? For a limited time, you can enter to win free jeans in the Express giveaway. Express is giving away 50 free pairs of jeans! If I could fit into their jeans, I would totally enter. I’m all about free things!

So, what are your favorite brands of jeans, and why do you like them? Give me some ideas of new kinds to try out!

We all have dreams for our lives, and now Upromise wants to reward someone for his or her dreams. Upromise is celebrating its 10th anniversary by giving away $20,000 to people who share stories about how a parent has supported a child’s dream. You can enter the program by sharing your dream at www.upromisetodream.com. Upromise will give away $1,000 to 10 winners, and the grand prize winner will receive $10,000! You can check out the dream wall official rules here.

I may not have done it correctly, but I put my dream, which is to stay at home with Lucy and be a full time mommy. That’s all I want out of life. At this point, Lucy doesn’t have any dreams for me to support, but I hope she knows that I will always support all of her dreams, no matter what they are or where they take her.

For those of you who haven’t heard about Upromise before, it’s a great program that puts money into a college savings account for your children through coupons. New coupons are issued each month. I haven’t taken advantage of this program yet, but I intend on doing so.

Do any of you plan on participating in this giveaway by sharing your dreams?
