Formula Sweepstakes

This post brought to you by PBM Products. All opinions are 100% mine.

As you all know, Lucy was mainly formula-fed and I am proud of that fact. There are people who bash formula, but my child is just as healthy as any breast-fed baby.

When Lucy was on formula, we didn’t use a specific brand and found ourselves buying various store brands because they had the same nutritional content as name brand formula but cost less. One of the brands we used was Walmart’s Parent’s Choice. It was one of the main ones we used, and Lucy always seemed to enjoy it.

Now, Parent’s Choice is going to help send one person to college. The Parent’s Choice Infant Formula Savings Sweepstakes, which was created in partnership with PBM Products LLC a Perrigo Company, will give one lucky winner a $10,000 college scholarship in the form a College Savings 529 Plan. This is a great way to help pay for college, which can be SO expensive!

The Parent’s Choice Infant Formula Sweepstakes launched on June 15 and ends on August 1. More information and rules on the sweepstakes as well as an entry form can be found online at http://parentschoicesweepstakes.listrak.com.

Are any of you going to enter this sweepstakes for your kids?

Freschetta Pizza Giveaway!

This post brought to you by FRESCHETTA®. All opinions are 100% mine.

We are BIG pizza eaters in our house. I usually pick up a pizza for dinner at least once a week because of my late work schedule, and every Sunday night is frozen pizza night. We usually stick to one certain brand, but we’re always up for something new, so when I had the opportunity to try FRESCHETTA® By the Slice, I jumped at it! Since I don’t eat cheese on my pizza, and it would have been a waste to take the cheese off with all the great toppings, I let Joe try the pizza out. He loved it. He thought it was delicious and loved how the crust was crispy despite the fact that it was cooked in the microwave rather than the oven. It was so convenient to just pop it in the microwave, and it was nice to have the option of just eating one slice. And, there are a lot of varieties — BBQ Chicken, Vegetable Medley, Six Cheese Medley and the one Joe tried, Chicken, Spinach and Mushroom.

You can keep up with Freschetta on Twitter at @FreschettaPizza and on Facebook at www.facebook.com/freschettapizza. One of my readers is going to get the chance to try Freschetta By the Slice for free.

Spring Getaway

This post brought to you by Hiltons of Branson. All opinions are 100% mine.

I am dying to get away. Summer vacation can’t come soon enough, and I’d love to take a fun little spring trip somewhere.

I’ve been wanting to go to Branson for some time now. I keep hearing that it’s a great tourist destination, and they have some pretty fun things to do. If we took a little trip there, we’d hit some of the amusement parks and family attractions, and I’d love to see some of the shows (if we could find something to do with Lucy, that is!). And, the Missouri Food and Wine festival would be a lot of fun as well.

Of course, I’d want to stay at either the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel or the Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing. I love Hilton hotels, and they’re always my first choice when we’re booking a trip. And, both are offering great deals to entice people to visit. The packages include two adults and two childrens tickets for two days at Silver Dollar City. They also include a $25 voucher for Level 2 Steakhouse at the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel. The 3-day package starts at $455, which sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

I don’t think we’re going to be able to get away next spring, but maybe we will next year. It can be our tax refund gift to ourselves!

Sinus Meds

This is a compensated post written by me on behalf of Walgreens. All opinions are 100% mine.

120x30_WalgrensTransparentLogoWe pretty much live on sinus meds in our house. Joe and I always get hit pretty bad throughout the year, so we try to keep various meds in stock. I used to take Claritin D but switched to Zyrtec after the Claritin started making my heart rate increase. However, I HATE paying the huge price tag that comes with name brand allergy medicines.

So, when I got the chance to try out one of the Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness Products, I jumped on it. I picked Wal-Zyr, the Walgreens equivalent of Zyrtec. I’ve seen it in the store before and noticed the price different between that and the name brand, but I’d never tried it.

And, boy, did we try it out! We’ve both been having allergy issues lately, so we dove into our box. It worked great! With some store brand items I have tried in the past, I could tell a difference between it and the name brand. However, this worked the exact same as the Zyrtec. We were very happy!

One really neat thing is that when you buy a Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness Product, Walgreens will donate up to $3 million a year to the Walgreens Way to Well Fund™. The Walgreens Way to Well Fund™ provides preventative health tests, health and wellness services, and education to local communities. That sounds like a great program!

Have you ever tried a Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness Product before? If so, what was it and what did you think about it? If not, which one do you think you’d want to try?

Outdoor Decor

This post brought to you by Pier 1. All opinions are 100% mine.

Spring is almost here, and that means it’s time to start thinking about spending more time outside. From watching Lucy play to cooking out, there’s so much to do, and I really love this time of year.

One thing we’ve never really done is focused on our outdoor decor. Maybe it’s because we don’t really have a backyard (it’s all wooded right now) and no where to put anything. I SO want to buy some outdoor chairs and a fire pit, but I wonder if that looks too redneck in our front yard. Pier 1 is probably my favorite store for outdoor decor. I love their wicker furniture. Throw on colorful cushions, and you have cute furniture with a pop! I love the papasan chairs (I have one in our bedroom but never knew you could buy outdoor cushions!), and the Swingasan chair they are selling this season is pretty cool.

I think this year we need to focus on getting our backyard cleared out so we can create a patio area. We’re probably going to be in this house several more years thanks to the downturn in the economy, so we might as well work on sprucing it up! It could really be a “wow” factor for our house if we get some cute rugs and seating, and maybe some torch lighting or something. I have a friend who has a patio area like that, and it’s so cute!

What kind of outdoor decor do you have at your house? Do you like Pier 1? If so, make sure you sign up for the Pier 1 Outdoor newsletter. You will get a special in-store offer that can be used March 18-20. And, if you live in Dallas, Atlanta or NYC, you can check out one of the Pier 1 Tweetups!
