cropping and costumes

it was a semi-busy, semi-relaxing weekend in our household. after work on friday, a co-worker and i headed to kennesaw for a close to my heart workshop. it was a lot of fun, and i’m really excited to start cropping with the women in my meetup group. they all seem really cool. i bought a set of stamps, and now i have to pick out something else to buy to go toward our hostesses party. the problem is, it’s too hard to decide. i want a lot of the items in the catalog! here’s the latest page i did to enter into our group’s contest. the theme is to scrapbook a day of the week.

sabbath lunch

on saturday, i ended up sleeping until almost 11 a.m. (this arthritis is kicking my butt. when will the enbrel get back in my system??), so i missed church. i made a yummy lunch for us: baked chicken (vegetarian buffalo wings for me!), wild rice and corn.

lunch

after an afternoon of reading, relaxing and scrapping, it was time to prepare for tim and mindy’s halloween party. as i mentioned earlier, we decided to change our costumes. i went as andie anderson from “how to lose a guy in 10 days”.

joe went as the transporter.

now, two people showed up in regular clothes. when asked what they were, valerie said, “oh, i’m an extra”, and david said, “i’m, uh, bud bundy.” bud bundy who’s not even in a movie. then, *they* won prizes for their costumes! what’s up with that?? at least we picked characters from our favorite movies, as was the theme. oh well.

sunday was spent relaxing and watching another playoff blow-out as the red sox beat the indians to advance to the world series. yay. and now, it’s monday again. next weekend seems so far away.

girl’s night out

one of my co-workers and i are going out for a girl’s night tonight. i’m really excited. i joined a scrapbooking meetup group in kennesaw, and tonight is a get together with a demonstration by a close to my heart consultant. i haven’t really heard much about this company, but i’ve browsed its web site, and i’m excited to see what kinds of products they offer. it’s too bad tonight’s not an actual crop night because i am *so* far behind in my scrapbooking (i’m still working on march in our family scrapbook and i’ve only done 3 pages in ryan and ori’s wedding scrapbook), but it will still be fun to hang out with a bunch of girls. besides, i haven’t been in a scrapbooking mood lately, so hopefully this will help get me out of my funk!

crafts and friends

this is my entry in carol’s crafting contest.

i got some scrapbooking in last night while joe was playing tennis. the time sure flew by! i finally started the wedding scrapbook i’m doing for my brother and his wife (their christmas present), and i made some birthday cards for joe’s parents and sister. i thought they were pretty good for a first attempt.

birthday cards

i like the double page spread i did for their portraits. and they line up almost perfectly.

i think i’m going to add some white ribbon to the left side on this page.

i might get some more scrapping in today. we’ll see. tomorrow, i’m heading up to chattanooga to have lunch with chas! i’m so excited. she will be the first blogger friend i’ve met since lisanne stood me up in new york! (just kidding!)

concert scrap page

i did another page tonight. i feel like i’ve been so productive this week! i really like this one. i think it’s one of the best ones i’ve made. i recreated the stage of the faith hill/tim mcgraw concert, and i think it looks pretty awesome.

scrapping

i finally did some scrapping tonight. i am so far behind. i finished the spread on my birthday, which was in march. that shows you just how far behind i am. the list of pages yet to do is daunting.

it sure is hard to find scrapbooking paper

it is next to impossible to find jewish holiday-themed scrapbooking paper. none of the craft stores carry such paper, and i’ve only been able to find a couple web sites that sell jewish-themed paper. we’re going to joe’s parents’ tonight for sedar to begin passover, and i wanted to buy 2-3 sheets of passover themed paper, which would cost me a little more than $1. shipping itself is almost $5! it just blows my mind that it would cost that much to ship 2 pieces of paper. this is just insane. the things i do for my husband . . . 🙂
