Higher Education

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Ashworth College. All opinions are 100% mine.

I’ve always wanted to go back to school to further my education. Of course, I thought that would be in the form of a Master’s or Doctorate degree, but recently I’ve been thinking that it might be nice to get either an Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in a different field. That would give me more of a background in a different area.

Going back to school is hard with a little one, though. I feel like there’s not enough time in the day as it is, and when you add in trekking to Atlanta for classes, I don’t think I’d ever see my daughter or husband. I’ve been thinking that getting on Online degree through a distance learning program is the way to go. That way I can work at home at my own pace and still spend time with Lucy. And, with an online program, I’m not limited to the schools in Atlanta and the courses they offer. I can look at any college, like Ashworth, which offers more than 100 courses, like web design. I’ve been wanting to learn web design because blog design is a pretty lucrative business these days!

Have any of you guys ever thought about going back to school? What would you want to go back to study?

Shoe Swap

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of If The Shoe Doesn’t Fit. All opinions are 100% mine.

One of my “things” is buying shoes. Whenever I go looking for an outfit, I almost always come away with a new pair of shoes, if nothing else. Shoes are great because they totally make an outfit and they never make you look fat. They’re the only things that really pick me up after a depressing day of trying on clothes.

So, imagine my excitement when I found out about “If The Shoe Doesn’t Fit“, which is like an eBay site for shoes! You can Sell, swap or shop for shoes. You can simply shop or, if you have some shoes that you don’t wear anymore and have been wanting to get rid of, you can list them and swap them with another user for shoes that you want! What an awesome idea. I think the swapping aspect will come in handy when Lucy starts wearing shoes. Baby and children’s shoes aren’t super cheap, and from what I’ve heard, they go through shoes rather quickly. It would be nice to swap for a new (for her) pair of shoes for her and not pay retail prices.

The site also is very inexpensive. It only costs $1 to list your shoes. That’s it. No hidden fees or anything else.

I think this is going to be one of my new favorite sites. Check it out, and let me know what you think!

Bright Beginnings’ New Look

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of PBM Products. All opinions are 100% mine.

I’m not super picky when it comes to baby formula. I don’t give Lucy the name brands because the store brands have the very same nutritional value at more than half the cost. But I know that some people really like the name brands, whether it be Enfamil or Similac.

Parents Choice has redesigned their can for Bright Beginnings and, while I think the design definitely looks different than those of all the other formulas on the market, but I think the sun really goes with the name Bright Beginnings.

I have used Parents Choice before but have never heard of Bright Beginnings. However, most of the moms who bought it gave it great reviews on www.diapers.com. Some said it’s pricey, but the price, while higher than Parents Choice, is right about the same as the name brand formulas on the market.

Bright Beginnings available at diapers.com and new customers can get $5 off their formula order, which can really make a good savings. I’ve never ordered formula or diapers off the internet, though it would be convenient to have them delivered to my house rather than having to run out to the store every time my supply gets low.

So, for you formula-feeding moms, what brand did you use?

A New Kind of Wool

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Ramblers Way. All opinions are 100% mine.

I don’t think I’ve ever really owned any wool clothing. Though the heaviness of the material probably wouldn’t be such a bad idea during the winter, its itchiness has never appealed to me, and so I’ve never really incorporated it into my wardrobe.

However, a new technology is changing the way wool feels. The “WINDspun” technology that Ramblers Way uses for its clothes makes the smoothest, most luxurious wool on the market which results in ultra-light wool clothes. The clothes not only keep you warm in the winter but also breathe so they can be worn year-round. Who would have thought you could wear wool in the summer? I think this technology is pretty cool and could really change the way consumers look at wool clothes. I definitely would look into buying wool clothes made with this kind of technology so that I don’t get too hot or itch all day.

And, the clothes are not pre-washed. Instead, they go through a patented enzyme treatment to prevent shrinkage and keep them fully washable.

Do you own any wool clothes? What do you think about this new technology that makes light weight, itch-free wool? Would you buy a wool product like this?

Win a Weekend Stay at Hampton Hotels

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Hampton Hotels. All opinions are 100% mine.

Have you ever wanted to have a hotel full of all your friends? Well, here’s your chance. Hampton Hotels has a new sweepstakes going, and the grand prize winner will get an entire hotel for a weekend (100 rooms for two nights).

Seriously. An entire hotel for a weekend. I’m trying to think about everything my friends and I would do if we had an entire hotel to ourselves. We definitely would crank up the music, do lots of ordering from room service and probably just run amuck. 🙂 Oh, and we’d definitely hit the pool. It would be SO nice to chill out at the pool and/or hot tub without worrying about other people being around. I may not sound super exciting, but I’m a pretty simple person, and that’s definitely my kind of weekend.

All you have to do to enter the Hampton Chain of Friends Sweepstakes is to go to Hampton’s website and fill out the form. It’s as simple as that! In addition to the grand prize winner, 100 people will win a weekend stay at the Hampton Inn for them and three of their friends. The contest is open to everyone, not just Hilton Honors members.

Now, it’s your turn. Tell us what you would do if you and your friends had an entire hotel to yourselves for a weekend!

Recipe Contest

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Mission Foods. All opinions are 100% mine.

I love Mexican food. One of our favorite dinners is enchiladas because it is so easy to make, so filling and so good. And, we always have leftovers for lunch. My favorite tortillas to use are Mission tortillas. I’ve never had any problems with them tearing, and they come in three different sizes, so I use them for enchiladas, soft tacos and double decker tacos. I just love making Mexican food!

Mission is hosting a Mission Menus Challenge. Entrants can submit budget-friendly recipes that use Mission tortillas. They have to be original and feed a family of five for $10. There are weekly prizes, as well as the chance to compete in a cook-off in Los Angeles and win a $10,000 kitchen makeover. The grand prize is ound-trip airfare and hotel accommodations for two to the Mission Menus Challenge cook-off on September 10, 2010 at the Hard Rock Café in Los Angeles.

I would love to enter, but I definitely need to think if a more original recipe than enchiladas (even though they are just so good!). What about you? Do any of you have any Mexican food in your repertoire? Do you think you’d enter this contest, and if so, what would you submit?
