Silver Dollar City’s 50th Birthday

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Hiltons of Branson. All opinions are 100% mine.

This year marks the 50th year that Silver Dollar City has been in Branson, Missouri, and the city is celebrating by offering a Silver Dollar City Package. The package includes deluxe accommodations for two nights in the Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing or Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel, two adult tickets and two children’s tickets (ages 4 to 11) for two full days of fun at Silvery Dollar City and a $25 food and beverage voucher for Level 2 Steakhouse located on the second floor of the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel.

That’s such an awesome deal, and this would be a great time to go to Branson. It’s somewhere Joe and I have always wanted to go. In addition to Silver Dollar City, there are tons of other attractions — such as museums, theme parks and live entertainment theaters — as well as fabulous shopping. It just seems like such a neat, touristy town. I think it would be a lot of fun for Lucy, so I think we might plan a family trip out there when she gets to be a bit older, especially since it’s not too far from Kansas City, so we could also take in a Royals game if we time our trip right.

The two-night, three-day Silver Dollar City Package starts at $455.00 plus tax. Additional tickets are $53 (plus tax) per adult and $43.00 (plus tax) per child. To book your package go to the “Hotel Specials” button on the Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing or Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel websites.

Win a Trip to Las Vegas

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of KAO Brands. All opinions are 100% mine.

Here’s a great contest. The Temptation is Beautiful sweepstakes is going on, and the prizes are great. There is a chance every day to win an “Indulgent Gift Basket”. There will be one given away for 60 days, and the baskets include Curel, Jergen’s, Biore, Ban and John Frieda products. All you have to do is register for your first entry and then return and enter your email address every day for additional entries.

The grand prize is awesome — a three-day, two-night trip to Las Vegas for you and three of your friends, including transportation and accommodations; as well as $1,500 in spending money. I would *love* to win the grand prize. I love Vegas, and going there with three friends would be so much fun!

Besides entering daily with your email address, you can earn bonus entries. You get one bonus entry for taking the Temptation quiz, one bonus entry for posting your quiz results on either Twitter or Facebook, and one bonus entry for emailing your quiz results and a link to the sweepstakes to up to five friends.

I took the quiz, and I wasn’t too surprised. I definitely was not an over-the-top flirt.

Are you going to enter this sweepstakes?

Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Alvin and the Chipmunks. All opinions are 100% mine.

I was a *huge* Alvin and the Chipmunks fan when I was younger. I watched their show in TV quite often. However, I haven’t seen their newest movie, Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel. To be honest, I thought it was weird to see them belting out Top 40 hits in the previews. Plus, in my opinion, that’s the kind of movie I would see with my child rather than with my husband.

Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel is now out and you can buy it now on DVD, Blue-ray and digital download, so I’ll probably buy it for Lucy at some point. The Double DVD Pack includes “The Squeak Along” Bonus Disc, with more music, mayhem and all-new singalongs. Hopefully, Lucy will love the chipmunks as much as I did! For those of you with older kids, there are several online activities out to go along with the movie, such as where you can ‘munk’ yourself. Also, you can check out for More Munk Mayhem.

I know a lot of you all have kids. Did you go and see Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel with them? If so, did you like it? Is it one you’ll add to your personal collection? And, for those of you with new little ones like me, do you think you’ll buy it for your kids to watch when they’re a little older?

Date Night

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of 20th Century Fox. All opinions are 100% mine.

I love Steve Carell and Tina Fey, so when I saw that they’re staring together in a new movie, I knew I wanted to go see it. They are absolutely hilarious in their respective NBC sitcoms, so I know that a movie staring both of them will be really good. ‘Date Night’ opens up on Friday. Carell and Fey play a couple who find their weekly date night does not go as they expect. Their evening includes a breaking and entering, a car chase, a shootout and a showdown with an underworld boss at a strip club.

For those of you who haven’t seen it yet, or for those who want to see it again, check out the Date Night Movie‘s trailer.

Maybe Joe and I will be able to find a sitter for Miss Lucy so we can go out and see this movie and have a date night of our own. This is the first movie in a while that we’ve both truly wanted to see, so I have to take advantage of that! Even though we’re pretty selective of what we see on the big screen, we’ll probably go see this one in the theater.

Are any of you planning on seeing this movie?

Weather Bug

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of AccuWeather. All opinions are 100% mine.

I do a lot of weather checking during the day. I check the weather at work since bad weather can mean more air time for us at the radio station. During the three snows we’ve had this winter (seriously? three snows??), I was constantly checking the weather so we could give updates as to what our listeners could expect through the overnight and into the next day. Sites like AccuWeather‘s new Web site make my job a lot easier by making the information easily accessible and by including radar with the local forecast. That really helps us in seeing how storms progress.

I also do a lot of weather checking at home, too, so I know how to dress myself and Lucy and, on the weekends, it helps us plan what we’re going to do. If the temperature is going to be nice, we can head out to the park, but if it’s supposed to be cold, as it has been the last few months, we stay in. I also like to see what the weather will be like when we go on trips, which is so much easier now with Accuweather’s new lifestyle sections.

What about you? Are you a weather bug, too?

I was a Flintstone Kid

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of VitaDigest. All opinions are 100% mine.

I think I need to start taking some vitamins. I took vitamins when I was a kid, but since growing up, I’ve pushed them to the side. And, since I’m a super picky eater, I know I miss out on certain things that my body needs. For instance, I don’t get a lot of Vitamin D or calcium because I don’t drink milk. I do eat yogurt, so I’m sure that helps, but there are days that I go without taking in any kind of dairy product. I also know I don’t get a lot of Vitamin C. I’m sure there are plenty of others that I’m lacking.

I used to take Women’s One a Day vitamins, but I have a pretty bad memory, so I was pretty bad at taking them. I would go days without taking a pill. Vitamin D and calcium are definitely two that I know I need to take on a regular basis. There are plenty of other vitamins I know would be good for me, such as many of the 13,000 varieties sold at, which was awarded INC5000 for 2009 as top 5000 Fastest growing company.. For those of you who need to restock on vitamins, VitaDigest is offering an exclusive 10 percent off coupon through the end of February with coupon code “izb10jan” and also has free shipping on orders over $100.

So, how about you? Do you take vitamins on a regular basis?
