Hmm ... definitely stacking rings (we got ours for 25 cents in a yard sale, but now they have ones that play music and have lights!). Definitely crinkly fabric books. We had a Boppy Prop & Play for the kids (good for tummy time). Balls ... there is a neat fabric one that makes sounds when you push the button for each country (it's like a globe). Musical blocks (and blocks in general). Those "taggie" blankets. A picture book with everyone's picture inside (plus items that are around the house, like the cats, etc.). Our kids liked the Jumperoo. Play car keys.

My experience has shown me that kids like simple things. My girls especially love the cloth books that have crinkly sounding pages. They've played a ton with their activity table. The jumparoo is a must...we also have a saucer which has come in handy when I need to cook dinner or do a little laundry. I think toys are kind of overrated, but there are a few that really make life easier :).
