home again, home again

the boys and i are back from a weekend at joe’s, one that always includes virtually no sleep for aj, julius and dizzy. there’s too much playing to be done and havoc to be wreaking!

it’s fun watching the cats when they first get home. this morning, julius ran around the house making sure everything was in place.

first he went into the kitchen.

food? check.

water? check.

bathroom? check.

then it was upstairs to my room.
windowsill? check.

bed? check.

and finally, he wandered into the office.
windowsill? check.

and that’s where he stayed, watching the birds and people outside, content that everything is right in his world.

new-found fame

there is a star in our midst.

my little one, aj, was featured in a story in the sunday paper, a weekly, alternative paper in atlanta. joe told one of his contacts there about our experience with hartz, and they interviewed me and ran a picture of aj.

to read the story, click here. let me warn you…99 percent of this story is in accurate. we’ll start with the cutline. joe is my boyfriend, not a friend, and he is rubbing in the flea spray, not washing aj. then they totally misquoted me and said that i said his heart was beating rapidly before we even went to the vet. you know, i wouldn’t have even known that until we went to the vet. sigh. i could go on and on about the mistakes, but i won’t.

oh, and here’s the picture of aj that ran in the actual paper. he’s such a cutiepie.

scrapbookin’

i’ve slowly but surely been working on our scrapbook. i wanted to make one on my relationship with joe to have at our wedding reception so our guests can look through it. i’ve finished several pages so far, but there’s so much more to do. i just found out they closed the scrapbook shop here, but i just found this great site that i’ll probably start using.

i thought i’d post pictures of the pages i’ve done so far and get your opinions. i don’t think i’m creative enough. sigh. any suggestions?

this is the story of how joe and i started dating. i did it last night and made joe drive around for a while when he got up here because i wasn’t done and wanted to surprise him. it’s not completely finished yet. i still have to put one picture in the bottom right corner. i’m using one from one of the steak nights at joe’s kiwanis club.

this is a closeup of the hearts on the “our story” page.

this is the page i did on aj. we’re each doing a page on our cats since they are huge parts of our lives.

this is julius’s page. it’s not done yet. i’m going to write the story of how i came to own him.

our first valentine’s day. *sigh*. heh. the first time we said “i love you.” 🙂

our six-month anniversary.

this is from the riverbend festival we went to in chattanooga. it was the first time joe had been there.

this is the trip to new york that we took with joe’s parents, sister and her fiance. i still have to put another picture or something in the bottom left corner.

this is from the fair we went to last month in bartow county.

fun google search

go to google.com and type in “failure.”

let me know what you think. i laughed hard. very hard. 🙂

2 games in 1

the braves made baseball history. the fourth game in the postgame series against the astros last 18 innings. yep. two whole games.

and the braves didn’t win. sigh.

i thought we had it in the bag when adam laroche hit a grand slam in the 3rd. catcher brian mccann hit a home run. the score was 6-1 in the 8th. bring in the braves bullpen. and i use the word bullpen loosely because they suck. really suck. kyle farnsworth gave the astros a grand slam in the 8th and another home run in the 9th to tie the score.

then start the extra innings that keep going and going and going…joe and i didn’t think the game would end before the yankees/a’s game started at 7:30 p.m.

each team held the other at 6 runs. the braves were running low on bullpen relief. the astros were out of their pitchers, so they called in roger clemens, who started in game 2. i was shocked, partly because he had started just two days ago and partly because he’s 43 and had just started two days ago.

we continued to hold the astros, and joe and i kept saying, next inning we’ll get a run. that was until the bottom of the 18th when joey devine gave up a home run to chris burke.

game over.

no more postseason play for the braves.

what a crappy game.

i just hope the yankees lose tonight to the astros. that’s the only thing that’ll cheer me up from this.

funny quote

this is probably my favorite quote from gilmore girls. it’s from the episode where lorelei flashes back to her relationship with christopher, when they found out she was pregnant, and when she went into labor with rory. picture a teenager being wheeled to the delivery room as her parents show up and start yelling.
