30 Years

Today is my fabulous husband’s 30th birthday! Yep, he’s an old man now! Since been celebrating for the last few weeks with his surprise party and the baseball game we went to on Wednesday night, I hope he still feels special today!

When he arrived at work, he found his cubicle decorated with pictures of his favorite celebrity: Robert Pattinson. Seriously, Joe is big into the Twilight books. 🙂 And, no, I didn’t do that. It was the work of his Twilight-loving coworkers.

There was also an autographed picture of Edward Cullen!

Happy birthday, honey. I love you!

Picky McPickerson

That’s a name Joe loves to call me because I am pretty picky when it comes to food. After seeing Shanny and Lisanne post about the foods they don’t like, I thought I’d join in as well.

  • Any kind of meat
  • Seafood
  • Eggs
  • Cheese
  • Cooked carrots — only raw, please!
  • Certain kinds of salsa — I am *really* picky about this.
  • Thousand Island salad dressing
  • Bleu Cheese salad dressing
  • Mayonnaise
  • Plain potato chips — I prefer either barbecue or sour cream and onion
  • Boca burgers — they don’t look appetizing, much less taste good!
  • Radishes
  • Coleslaw
  • Beets
  • Cheesecake — this is Joe’s favorite dessert, but I just think it sounds icky!
  • French salad dressing
  • Beer — it’s just so bitter.
  • Spinach or any other kind of cooked greens — I’m obviously not a Southern girl! I like raw spinach greens in salads, but that’s about it.
  • Sour cream
  • French toast — goes with the whole no eggs thing.
  • Tomato juice
  • Macadamia nuts
  • Pecans
  • Walnuts
  • Pecan pie
  • Tap water
  • That’s all I can think of right now. What about you? What foods do you not like?

    Busy Last Weeks

I cannot believe how much we have going on in the next 9 weeks. We have three baby showers, a hospital tour (which is this weekend!) and an 8-hour childbirth class (since I can’t go to evening classes due to my work schedule). Plus, Joe has a weekend to work and possibly a 30-mile race, if his shin splints heal in time for him to be fully trained. We pretty much have something going on every weekend, which sounds insane, but it’s actually going to be great because it will take my mind off the fact that we still have 9 weeks to go (well, technically less than 9 now!) and make the time fly by. I just have a feeling the last few weeks will drag just like the first trimester did because of our excitement to meet our little girl.
