On Wearing Watches

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Victorinox Swiss Army. All opinions are 100% mine.

I don’t wear a watch very often. I have several watches that I love, but I just never seem to remember to put one on in the morning before I leave the house. And, it’s just as easy for me to pull out my cell phone to check the time as it is to check my watch.

My husband, on the other hand, NEVER leaves the house without a watch on. It’s like he feels naked without one. He has a couple of watches — a Fossil watch I bought him for Hanukkah one year, a running watch and a watch he received as a gift for being in his friend’s wedding.

One of these days, I’d like to get him a really nice watch, like one of the Victorinox Swiss Army watches. This one is my favorite:

I like the metal bands much more than the leather/fabric bands. I think they look classier and dressier. Like this watch? Check out the Facebook IWAW sweepstakes page for a chance to win one. They are giving away one watch a day for 30 days!

Do you wear a watch? Does your hubby? Or are you more of a cell phone user when it comes to telling time?

Menu Plan Monday

I know it’s actually Tuesday, but I thought I’d go ahead and post my menu for the week anyway. We usually end up deviating from it, especially if I end up getting home late from work, but at least it’s a guide.

Monday: frozen pizza
Tuesday: sloppy joe’s, salad
Wednesday: spaghetti, garlic bread, mixed veggies
Thursday: chili (yes, I know it’s ridiculously hot out, but we love chili. Plus, it makes good leftovers.)
Friday: pizza

What’s on your menus this week?

Come up with your Most Creative Softball Team Name

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Softball Rampage. All opinions are 100% mine.

Are you creative, or do you have a good sense of humor? Softball Rampage is looking for people to come up with their funniest, most clever softball team names. All you have to do is come up with your most creative name, go to Softball Rampage‘s blog and enter your name in the comments section. The person who comes up with the best name will win $200 in RampageBucks Rewards, which can be used on the company’s website for items such as softball bats, gloves and other softball gear.

It’s a good thing I have a really creative husband. I’m pretty sure he could come up with an awesome name that would have a great shot at winning this contest. The prize is pretty awesome, too. It would be fun to be able to buy a bunch of sports equipment. I used to love playing softball, and it would be fun to get back into it.

So, what about you? How creative are you? What’s the best name you can come up with, and do you think you’ll enter this contest? What kind of sports are you into, and what kind of equipment would you get if you won the prize?

Next Giveaway

I’ve got a giveaway that will be coming up probably toward the end of next week. It’s another fun one that I think you all will enjoy. I can’t wait to let you all know what it is! Make sure to stay tuned. 🙂

Update your Maps!

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of NAVTEQ. All opinions are 100% mine.

There are times that I really wish I had a GPS unit in my car. Now that I’m involved in a play group, Lucy and I spend more time than before in the car, and we’re always going to locations that are new to us. I got a little lost going to one of the last parks, and while my cell phone has a map on it, it’s hard to look at that while I’m trying to job. That’s where a GPS would come in handy. I really think I need one, since I’m prone to getting lost. I’m planning on getting a new car once we get Joe’s car paid off (since my little Mustang is a bit too small for my munchkin’s car seat), and I’m hoping it includes a GPS unit. Surely new cars now come with them, right?

For those of you who do use GPS, it’s time to update your maps! I’m sure that’s something that needs to be done fairly reguarly, as new streets and neighborhoods are constantly being built. There are several under construction in my area.

Updating is pretty easy. All you have to do is go to www.updateyourmap.com and follow the drop down menus that correspond to your built-in system or portable device. Again, that website is www.updateyourmap.com.

Shots from Sabbath School

Lucy loves her Sabbath School (except for the fact that her teacher gives her toys and then takes them away!). Here are some shots I’ve taken while we’ve been going there. And, yes, I know some of them are out of focus, but they were taken with my cell phone camera, which isn’t optimal when you have a squirmy 6-month-old. 🙂
