First Steps!

Lucy took her first steps tonight! She was standing up holding onto the couch, and out of no where let go and walked a couple of steps over to Joe! I told Joe she really needs to let us know when she’s going to hit a milestone so I can have the video camera ready. 🙂

I did, however, manage to get a short video of her taking more steps tonight.

Coincidentally, Rivka took her first steps today, too! How funny that she and Lucy hit this milestone at the same time.

I’m so close to being ready for Lucy’s birthday party! I think I have everything bought. Now, I just need to put together the centerpieces. I’m super excited about that!

I need some kind of eye cream to help get rid of the dark circles under my eyes. It seems like no matter how much sleep I get, I can’t get the dark circles to go away, and they look so hideous! I guess I need to do some more searching online, maybe at eyecreamsthatwork.org and see what I can find. I just want to look a bit more normal!

Formula Tales

My brother is big into protein shakes. He has one every morning. One day when we were visiting my parents, he wanted to add a bit of Lucy’s formula to his protein powder because it’s chock full of nutrients. Like I was going to say no to that.

All my brother could talk about was how horrible the formula tasted. I could have told him that from just having smelled it!

Teenagers these days have it much easier than I did when I was a teen. There are so many more kinds of acne treatment on the market these days to help rid teenagers of the unwanted blemishes. I know acne is pretty horrible for teens. I went through it myself, and it’s hard on the teenage ego. At least there are great ways now to get rid of it.

Gifts for Kids

I have been having such a HARD time picking out gifts for Lucy. I finally ordered her birthday gift tonight (really, her third gift as we’re making a keepsake for her and I picked up a little something for pretty cheap a few weeks ago). This is her “big” gift, though it’s not all that big. It’s a toy she LOVES playing with at a play place we go to, so we thought it would be a safe bet.

Of course, now I’m thinking about what to get her for Christmas. I know she doesn’t need anything “big” at her age, but as her parent, I want to get her an awesome gift! I think we might get her another learning toy or maybe a toy she can push around. It’s hard when she’s only a year old!

What kind of toys did you buy your kids when they were 1? Do you have any suggestions for christmas gift ideas for children?
