Progresso Lemon Pepper Panko Giveaway

I don’t do much cooking with bread crumbs, but my parents do, and I always think the bread crumbs make things taste much better. The only kind I’ve ever tried is just the regular bread crumbs, and recently, MyBlogSpark gave me the opportunity to try Progresso Lemon Pepper Panko, which combines the perfect crunch with effortless flavor to give any dish that extra punch. The large, flaky crumb has a coarser texture than traditional bread crumbs, delivering a lighter, crunchier coating or topping.

One of you will get to try this new kind of bread crumb as well. General Mills and MyBlogSpark are giving one of my readers a gift package that includes one package of Progresso Lemon Pepper Panko and an autographed copy of Chef Michael Chiarello’s new cookbook: Michael Chiarello’s Bottega. Also, make sure you check out the Progresso website for additional recipes, tips for cooking with panko, video and a coupon for $1 off any panko flavor.

What you win:
One package of Progresso Lemon Pepper Panko and a copy of Michael Chiarello’s Bottega.

Halloween Weekend 2010

We had a fun and busy Halloween weekend. Lucy hardly got to nap at all, and she got quite tuckered out from all the fun!

On Friday, Joe took a half day off of work, and he and Lucy met me in down for the Downtown Trick or Treat. It was super crowded but definitely worth going. Lucy had a lot of fun (as much fun as a sleepy bebe could have!), and she looked ridiculously cute in her costume.

On Sunday, we went to the Pumpkin Patch Farm! Lucy had a blast. The first thing we did was take her through the hay maze.

Then, we went through the petting zoo.

Our last stop at the Pumpkin Patch Farm was the hayride!

Our city celebrated Halloween on Saturday (don’t even get me started on that….), but since Joe and I refused to celebrate it the day before, we headed down to Acworth on Sunday night. Lucy had SO much fun. She just laughed and laughed as she watched all the bigger kids running around, and all the residents at the houses we visited thought she was super cute.

Lucy passed out on the way home. She was exhausted from all the trick or treating!

But, her tiredness didn’t stop her from going through her loot when we got home!

Lucy’s first Halloween was SO much fun, but it was also bittersweet because it was her last “first” holiday. But, I know that each subsequent holiday will just be that much more fun.

Busy Birthday Month!

Today is the first of November. This next weekend is the only low-key weekend we’ll have until after the first of December. It’s going to be crazy busy around our house but it will be so much fun with, oh, Lucy’s FIRST birthday in 20 days!

Here’s a glimpse of our upcoming weekend calendar:

Nov. 14: Joe’s ultramarathon in Peachtree City
Nov. 21: Lucy’s first birthday party!
Nov. 25-28: Visiting both families for Thanksgiving/celebrating my dad’s birthday
Dec. 4: Tentative date for Hanukkah celebration

We like being busy but we will definitely be ready for a couple of weekends of doing absolutely NOTHING before Christmas rolls around.

I want to get a new mattress at some point. I want one that’s a little less firm. Plus, I’ve had my mattress since I was in high school. It’s definitely been worn and, while it still works fine for us, it would be nice to get a new one sometime in the future. I wonder what an orthopedic mattress would be like and how comfortable they are. I definitely need to do some research on this.

Shoe Problems

I think I’m going to need to go shopping for some new shoes pretty soon.

My feet grew during pregnancy. It’s so funny because foot growth isn’t really a pregnancy symptom that I thought of, but it definitely happened for me. I noticed it the first time when I bought some new flip flops this summer and picked a size larger than I usually wear. And, honestly, I probably could have gone up another size.

Then, on Saturday, I planned on wearing my super cute closed toes black pumps that have little bows on the side to a funeral, but when I put them on my toes were SQUISHED! I wore them when I walked out to get the mail, and that was painful enough.

So, now I think I need to find some new dressy shoes for winter (whenever the cold weather decides to head into our area, that is). I have a few places to look on my list, like mbt shoes.

Did any of you notice your feet grow a size or so from pregnancy??
