Have you ever heard of 5th wheel insurance? I haven’t, but after doing a little bit of looking around on the internet, I found that it’s insurance for RVs rather than from cars. That’s kind of a bummer because I am one to always look around for new insurance quotes to see if I can get a better deal than what I’m currently paying. Guess I’ll just keep looking!

My New Favorite Necklace

I’ve been wanting to get a hand stamped necklace with Lucy’s name on it for a while, since they’re probably one of the biggest jewelry fashion trends for moms, and last week I finally decided to go ahead and get one. I ordered it from Joy, whose blog I’ve read for a while now, and she did a fabulous job. I love, love, LOVE this necklace.

Isn’t it great? I will definitely be wearing this every day!

Deal of the Day

Today’s SaveMore deal is great — you can get a $30 voucher to Eve’s Addiction for $15 or a $45 voucher for $20. AND, you get a $10 credit for signing up as a new member, so you can get those vouchers for $5 or $10!

Eve’s Addiction has some really cute pieces! I can’t wait to use my voucher — I just have to figure out what to use it on. 🙂

Let me know — did you get today’s deal? If so, what do you plan to get with your voucher??

Swimmin’ Machine

Last weekend, we headed to South Carolina to celebrate Nana’s birthday. A 4-hour trip isn’t a lot of fun with an active 19-month-old who doesn’t want to be sitting for said four hours, but we made it.

On Saturday, we hung around Nana’s house. Joe, Lucy and I took a long nap since Lucy can’t sleep in new places anymore, so she and Joe didn’t get any sleep Friday night. Apparently, Joe didn’t get much sleep during the nap either, since Lucy had to sleep on him again, so we ended up heading back home Saturday night. He didn’t want to go another night with no sleep.

That evening, we headed over to Teri and Rob’s, Joe’s mom’s cousins, for dinner to celebrate Nana and Arlene’s (Nana’s sister-in-law’s) birthdays. We had a blast, and Lucy couldn’t wait to get in the pool! She LOVED the raft and wanted to be on it ALL.THE.TIME. We called her the Queen of the Nile.

We actually got a good shot of all the kids/grandkids, including one with CHEESEFACE!

And, of course, Lucy got in some good swimming time. She really impressed everyone, and I was glad to see that she still remembers things from last summer. She can kick really well (obviously), and she still knows how to use her arms, which surprised me. She loves the water.

I was also impressed by the fact that she rolled off the raft several times and went under the water, and when we pulled her up she acted like nothing had happened and was ready to go again. That’s my girl!

On Sunday, we took her to our local community pool to get some more swim time in. As expected, she had a blast there as well. I got some good swimming time in both days as well, which is really good exercise. Maybe I won’t need to check out buyphenphedrine.com to help me lose this weight if we start going to the pool on Sundays!

On Being 80

Hi. My name is Cady, and I have arthritis and cataracts.

Oh, yeah, and I’m only 31 years old. I’ve always said that I’m an 31-year-old trapped in an 80-year-old’s body, and now I’m feeling it more than ever. As you all probably know, I have rheumatoid arthritis. I was diagnosed when I was 20, and I’m on a cocktail of meds to help keep it under control. And, because of my arthritis, I get to go take water aerobics classes at the senior aquatic center — as in senior CITIZEN aquatic center. Sigh.

Last Friday, I had my annual eye exam, and, since it was my first time seeing this optometrist, I told him that I had been told last year that I had cataracts. He told me that was highly unlikely given my age but, when he looked at my eyes, he confirmed that I do indeed have cataracts. Right now because of them, I’m barely seeing 20/20 with correction. He told me that if it gets to the point of seeing 20/30 or worse with correction, I’ll be looking at cataract surgery. Seriously. At 31 years old. Oh yeah…and guess what caused my cataracts — my arthritis meds!

See? I’m a freaking 80-year-old. I hate to think of what will happen next.

We’re now on Facebook!

I finally decided to start a Facebook page for my blog. I know tons of other bloggers do it, so I figured why not? Check it out here, and make sure you “like” it!!
