Last Week

This is my last week at my full time job. After being employed there for six years, this feels strange to me. It’s scary because it’s secure but exciting because I will have more time for my family. That’s what really matters in this thing called life.

I have been SLAMMED with work these last few weeks. I’ve been working my full time job AND freelancing, so I’ve been working 12-15 hour days. There are some days that I don’t see Lucy at all, which makes me sad, but I know it will be worth it on Friday when I walk out of the radio station for the last time.

And, being so busy is comforting because I know that when I DO leave the radio station, I will have tons of work. I already have several stories I need to work on but just haven’t had the time, and one editor said she has a lot for me to do. I’m ready for this new chapter to begin.

Fiber One 90-Calorie Bar Giveaway Winner

The winner of the Fiber One 90-Calorie Bar giveaway is….

#2 — Mami2jcn!

Congrats! I’ll be emailing you to get your contact information!

I’ve been thinking about the past a lot lately. I’m not sure why, but I’ve gotten a little nostalgic.

I remember when we were younger and my family had a weekend house in Virginia, we had this huge, old TV in our living room by the wood burning stove. It was black and white, and we had to use rabbit ears, so we really didn’t get much in the way of TV channels. Oh, the days of analog tv. These days, everything is digital and in HD. It will be interesting to explain the way things were to Lucy when she gets older.

Has anyone ever used any kind of document management software from I have never really heard of it before, so I don’t really know what it does. It seems a little pricey to me at the first look but, if I had a little bit more information, it might be worth it to me. Any thoughts or ideas on this subject?

We are hoping to sell our HUGE, SOLID oak desk to make more room in our back room for a play area for Lucy. However, as I mentioned, the desk is solid, which means it’s heavy. As in, we could barely move it in with three men carrying it. And, we had to take off all our doors. I think getting some casters would make moving it a lot easier.
