Easter 2012

OH. MY. GOODNESS. I completely forgot I had started working on this post and never finished it. So, I’m posting it now since, you know, this is my record of life with Lucy.

Wow. Easter was SO MUCH more fun this year. Lucy was SO into everything, and watching her made me so happy. When she woke up on Easter morning, she came out to the living room to find her basket. She was beside herself with excitement.

Then, it was time for the big egg hunt. It was so much fun seeing her walk around the yard and shout, “Egg!” whenever she saw one. Then, she would open it up to see what was inside because she just couldn’t wait. She’s her mama’s daughter.

After she had collected all the eggs, she had to go through her loot. Duh.

That was pretty much the extent of what we did. We had a pretty low-key day at home watching Lucy’s new Dora DVD about 800 times. It was perfect.

New Way to Play Games

This post brought to you by AppGear. All opinions are 100% mine.

So, here's a new kind of toy that you can play with by using your iPhone or Android device. AppGear has come out with a line of toys that you connect to your phones in order to play them.

For example, according to PC Magazine, with the game Foam Fighters, a line of small, digitized airplanes is attached to your phone, which you can use to fly them through different simulated scenarios. In ZombieBurbz, zombies fight against humans interactively on your tablet or smartphone. PC Magazine says players can “set traps and fight off angry human neighbors.” There are four packs of zombies, each coming with its own unique storyline and a total of 36 missions.

Other games in the AppGear line include EliteCommanderAR, Alien JailBreak and Mysterious Ray Gun. This really shows how the 21st century technology is having an impact on everything, and it seems like AppGear and WowWee are really on the forefront of a new kind of way to play games because, really, what kind doesn’t have a smart phone or tablet these days? Most kids are, and I think this is where the future of game playing is headed, rather than playing board games and really even games on video game consoles.

Someone You Know

Someone you know is suffering.

Someone you know cries month-after-month when looking at a negative pregnancy test.

Someone you know cringes when asked when she will have children.

Someone you know puts on a brave face when faced with pregnancy announcements, baby showers and births but is crying on the inside.

Someone you know is spending tens of thousands of dollars to get pregnant.

Someone you know wonders if being a parent will really happen.

Someone you know stares at the guest bedroom, dreaming of a nursery but realizing it may just stay a guest room.

Someone you know is infertile.

One out of every eight women is dealing with infertility. Chances are you know one who is fighting this battle. I am one of them.

This post is written for National Infertility Awareness Week.

New Adventure!

As you all know, I love a good deal, and I never shop without my trusty coupon binder. Seriously, now that I see how much I can save, I will never go back.

And, now I get to share my love for deals and being frugal. I am blogging for Mommy Wants Freebies and My Coupon Lady, and I am super excited. I hope you will follow along there, as we bring you the best coupons, deals and frugal tips!

You know what I like? When offices, like doctor’s offices or office building lobbies, have water features, like fountains or water walls. It’s always so soothing to me. I’d love to get a small fountain to put either in my front yard in a garden area or in our backyard where we want to put in a patio area. Lucy would love that.

I like to wear makeup, but I never find the time to put it on. So, I rarely wear any, unless it’s a special occasion. I wonder if an airbrush makeup machine would help. I can just picture myself spraying makeup on my face in 10 seconds. Lol. Would it even look good? I think I will just stick to my mineral makeup.
