  • I really need some fat burner pills. I think some of those, along with my diet and exercise (which I really need to get back into now that Lucy's swimming lessons are done, by the way), would help give me a kick start into losing some of this weight. I feel like I have so far to go. I need to just take it five pounds at a time rather than looking at it as a whole.

I had a pretty good checkup today. Before seeing the doctor, I had an ultrasound for a test that measures the baby’s breathing patterns and movements in a 30-minute period. The breathing got checked off fairly quickly, and Lucy would move an arm or leg here and there, but it took close to the allotted time to get a “big” movement in, which is her torso and/or head. I was getting pretty concerned, but she ended up passing with a perfect score. Part of me was a little bummed because the sonographer said that, depending on the doctor, a 6/8 may lead to early delivery, but I’m also very glad that she’s OK. I feel like a bad mom!

Other than that, my visit was pretty routine. I measure on track, I didn’t gain any weight over the last week (yay!), and the doctor says she’s happy with everything. She told me to go to the hospital if I have contractions that I am unable to move/talk/breathe through. I asked if that meant we’d have a baby, and she kind of hedged, which made me feel as though she doesn’t want to deliver a baby at 37 weeks. I totally understand that. I’m just more antsy than normal with all the fakeouts we’ve had. I had a little bit more bleeding today, so I’m hoping maybe that means I’m dilating more and we’re about to get this show on the road. I keep reading stories of people who went into labor within a few days of losing their plug, and I’m getting bummed that it looks like I won’t be in that group. Oh well. She’ll come when she’s ready. It’s just going to be a long time for me!

When I 1st started reading this, I thought you were going to say they decided to go ahead & induce you. Like you say, the most important thing is that Lucy is ok tho & you’re right, she’ll come when she’s ready )

On another note & I’ve meant to tell you this before, I was induced @ 37 weeks (because of the circumstances w/Spencer) & Kendall is just fine~a happy-go-lucky 4 year old boy ) DId your dr. have anything to say about you losing the plug yet? I don’t want to be gross or write TMI, but dr.’s do what they call “stripping the membranes” & that’s supposed to begin labor. They did it w/me w/Justin & Kendall~it pretty much works. Maybe you can suggest that )

How exciting that she is just 21 days away from making her appearance. 37 weeks isn’t too early but letting her stay nice and comfy inside is a good thing. Hang in there!

Oh my goodness – I can’t believe she’s almost here!

Yes, she will come when she’s ready and the time is right! I was thinking about you last night and just couldn’t believe that you are almost at your due date ~ seems like yesterday when you announced your big news! It has been so much fun sharing along with this journey!

Hi Cady – thanks for your comment on my blog. It’s great to hear from you.
I am so excited to hear that little Lucy is almost here (I love the choice of name). I’ll be following your journey and can’t wait to hear the good news.

You’ll probably be quite surprised how quickly it goes when she actually arrives. It sounds like a long time now when you say “four weeks” or what have you, but the time is just going to speed by like crazy. Hope everything goes well for you until the big day!

      Hi Cady.

I’m sorry the time seems to moving so slowly for you. I would imagine, though, that if the due arrives and delivery is still not spontaneous your doctor will get things going for you.

I well remember waiting for my first daughter to arrive. The last weeks before the due date were pretty tedious, but not nearly as excruciating as the two weeks FOLLOWING the due date. The little rascal was just flat out LATE!
