This year is so different than last, and that means we have to change the way we do things. Social distancing is so important right now, and with Halloween coming up, you may not want to go trick or treating as usual this year.
If you are looking for something more distant to do, we have some fun Halloween social distancing ideas for you that the kids will love.

Candy Scavenger Hunt
Your kids can still get candy without going door-to-door. Hide it around the house, come up with clues and send the kids on a scavenger hunt with their Halloween buckets!

Movie Night
Order some pizza, buy candy and put it in bowls, pop some popcorn and have a fun, scary movie night with the family. We love movie night in our house, so this idea will be a hit with my kiddo!

Cookout with the Neighbors
It’s warm where we live, and if it is where you live, too, you can hang out with the neighbors outside in your own driveways! We are planning on having a cookout, with each of us cooking in our driveways. It will be a fun way to actually get to hang out with people while not being too close.

Have a Door Decorating Contest
This is a fun way to get the whole neighborhood involved. Have a door decorating contest and see which family can come up with the creepiest door for Halloween! This would be so much fun!

Social Distancing Trick or Treating
Have friends in your neighborhood all make little bags of candy and put them on your porches. Then, let each family go one at a time to trick or treat and pick them up!

Have a Costume Contest
Have the kids stand in their yards or distanced in someone’s driveway and have a costume contest! This is a fun way for the kids to get dressed up in their costumes, even if you don’t do traditional trick or treating this year.
Halloween is definitely not going to be the same this year, but these Halloween social distancing ideas are some ways that you can still make it fun and memorable for the kids. My daughter is actually looking forward to our socially distant celebration this year. Let us know what you plan to do for Halloween in the comments. And, check out the other Activities for Kids we’ve posted, too!
I have fond memories of trick or treat parties we had at home some years when I was a kid. Thanks for posting!
Thank you for your ideas here, I think we are just going to sit home ,play a few games and watch a spooky movie.

Everyone be safe this year!
We’re definitely keeping indoors this Halloween but I’m hoping the kids don’t feel like they’ve missed out in any way. You’ve got some great ideas here x #KCACOLS
I still haven’t decided what we are doing yet. Thankfully there have been a couple of haunted trails we’ve managed to find to salvage something of the season #anythinggoes
This is great we are having a mini party with the cousins this week, We will have to include a costume competition, candy trail and the movie night #KCACOLS
Great ideas! I still think there will be some door to door trick or treaters this year so I am prepared with a few bags of wrapped candy.
Such great ideas! I have bought stuff to make a trail mix to enjoy and we have ordered some special burgers to cook up in the evening. I would say my daughter is going to dress up as a princess, but that is just a daily occurrence at the moment haha. Thanks so much for linking up at #KCACOLS. Hope you come back again next time.
Great ideas, thanks for sharing. I’ll be whipping up a halloween bunting banner tomorrow https://hellosewing.com/how-to-make-bunting-template/ and we already made some really cute fabric pumpkins https://hellosewing.com/how-to-make-fabric-pumpkins/
As for the contest, I already have already whipped up few witch hats and cloaks and we are going to have fun!
