i hate having to make an appointment with my gynecologist. i hate how nosey the receptionists are. i understand it’s their job, but they should understand that i really don’t want to tell them why i need to see my doctor.

Honey, they’ve heard it all and then some. I’m sure whatever you need is tame in comparison.
🙂
i know that, but i don’t care…i’m still embarrassed!!
I know. I hate that, too. They’re so matter-of-fact that you don’t know whether it’s a good or bad thing. I remember when I called to make my first OB appt and they asked the reason, I was like, “Um. Positive pregnancy test?” I couldn’t figure out a non-cheesy way of saying it, and I still felt like an idiot.
As Laura said… just wait until you get pregnant. Took some getting used to the receptionist handing me a paper bag with a cup to go pee in everytime I go in. It’s just second nature now. Although, almost 9 months into the pregnancy, I’m still trying to figure out where to put the pee bag while I wait in the waiting room for the nurse to call me? The floor? The chair next to me? The table? Talk about embarrassing!
I know you’re probably tired of hearing it, but I have to agree w/ the other commenters…after you get pregnant embarrassment of all things about the girly parts goes right out the window…you just get used to talking about it all to whoever asks.
