I am going to my first crop in a *long* time tomorrow. I just really haven’t been motivated to scrapbook for a while. Last year found me bummed a lot of the time, and I’m always so tired that I’m embarrassed to be the first to leave because I have to go to bed.
Tomorrow is an afternoon crop, though, so it’ll be a good one to start back with. I spent today looking through layouts and sketching pages so all I will have to do when I get there is crop my pictures and stick them on. I think a lot of what frustrated me was staring at a page and having no idea what to do with it. Hopefully preparing like this will help me.
I really do need to get back into scrapbooking. I am literally almost two years behind. On Sunday, I’m planning to reorganize my cluttered scrapping area. Maybe that will help as well. I’ll post pictures of whatever pages I finish. I love your feedback!

That sounds like so much fun. I get more scrapping done when I go to something like that. I spend more money too but that’s another subject all together. LOL Have fun.
That’s pretty cool! Good luck to your first cropping.. 🙂
I will look forward for the pictures that you will going to post here..
Happy New Year!
Oh good luck and have fun… I never thought about scetching a page out first, I have the same problem I hate sitting down and not knowing where to start. I dont scrap for that reason, I digi scrap though. My fiance says I should start doing it but its to much mess and this house is too small. Have fun!!
I tried to scrapbook once, and just couldn’t do it. It cost me $100 and two weekends to finish a scrapbook of my trip to London, and no one has looked at it since.
I have an friend who does scrapbooking and loves it. One thing she did was do a scrapbook for each child her and her husband have fostered. I’m sure once you put on some good music and clean up your area, your creative juices will begin to flow!
I helped my Mom organize her pictures 10 years ago – she wrote on every one, put them into envelopes by decade then I put them in albums by year. It was an awesome feeling of accomplishment when we finished. They would be so easy to scrapbook now. I need to take a class!
I do have a few scrapbooks of my own completed of special events – even though no one looks at them now, my Grandchildren might enjoy seeing them someday!
Good for you to tackle this now before it gets out of hand!
Can’t wait to see your completed pages 🙂
heather – having your pictures organized like that *would* make it much easier to scrapbook!
maureen – i want to do a scrapbook for each of our children too, when we have them that is! i’m hoping to tackle my scrapping area tomorrow and hopefully get close to being caught up!
corrin – we don’t look at my scrapbooks regularly, but i do them to have for my children and grandchildren to see. it’s a fun way to record our lives.
ladygrace – i had never sketched pages before, but i think it will make scrapping a lot easier. now i have a plan!
bhing – it’s not my first, but it’s my first in a while. hopefully i will get pictures up either tonight or tomorrow, so check back!
karen – it definitely helps to be at a place where there are no other distractions. and, luckily, it’s at someone’s house so there’s no temptation to spend money! that’s always my downfall.
My aunt tried to get me into scrapbooking, but I’m just not that creative. Have fun! I’m sure it’ll feel good to get back into the swing of things. 🙂
Sounds like a lot of fun. Hope you have a great time
getting back into the swing of it. It’s something I
haven’t done in years!
I have worked in the craft industry for many years. I am amazed at all the scrapers out there….. I never got the bug… mostly from lack of space to work. Have a great time!
I realized a long time ago that I just really don’t like scrapbooking with other people…I am a scrapbooking loner, lol.
Showing my ignorance, but I had no idea what “cropping” was until I read your post (figured it wasn’t about gardening but…) LOL!
Have fun!
I keep telling myself I’m going to start, but I think I’d end up get overwhelmed because I’d want to do every event and holiday we did. I scarpbooked our honeymoon 6.5 years ago but haven’t done anything since then!
Looking forward to see what you do and – good luck and have FUN! 🙂
sadie – i wasn’t too creative when i started either. you should see my first pages! i grew to be more creative though. 🙂
barbara – it really felt good to get back into it again. now i just have to keep it up!
christina – i am amazed by a lot of scrappers. i will never be as good as they are.
sugar & ice – i vary in regards to that. sometimes i prefer to work alone and other times i like to be around others for inspiration.
diane – hehe! i didn’t learn that term until i started scrapbooking.
hannah – i get really overwhelmed by it sometimes…especially now when i’m almost two years behind!
daria – thanks! i hope to put pictures up in the next day or so.
I really need to get our photos in order. I keep putting it off. I have tons of them and hardly ever print them, never mind do anything else like scrapbook with them. I need some pixie dust please!
connie – sending scrapbooking dust your way! my problem is putting everything off too. that’s why i’m so far behind!
Never tried scrapbooking due to my limited time, although I have enough stuff to get started, maybe it is something I will look into.
scott – it’s hard to find the time to do it, but it’s worth it when you do.
I want to see your pages!!!
