This is my last week at my full time job. After being employed there for six years, this feels strange to me. It’s scary because it’s secure but exciting because I will have more time for my family. That’s what really matters in this thing called life.

I have been SLAMMED with work these last few weeks. I’ve been working my full time job AND freelancing, so I’ve been working 12-15 hour days. There are some days that I don’t see Lucy at all, which makes me sad, but I know it will be worth it on Friday when I walk out of the radio station for the last time.

And, being so busy is comforting because I know that when I DO leave the radio station, I will have tons of work. I already have several stories I need to work on but just haven’t had the time, and one editor said she has a lot for me to do. I’m ready for this new chapter to begin.
