Play Date at Southern Prep

I love all the fun events my playgroup plans. This past week, we went to Southern Prep, which is an awesome indoor play area. I was undecided at first about taking Lucy since she’s so small and it looked like it was geared more toward toddlers, but I decided to go. I’m glad I did because Lucy had a BLAST!

She did some tummy time and rolled around for a good while, and spent some time staring at herself in a row of mirrors that I set up in front of her. This girl LOVES her reflection!

Then, I took her on the trampoline. There are several long trampolines, so I sat her on one end and bounced it for her. She LOVED it. I don’t think I’ve ever heard her laugh so much. Other moms and kids around us thought Lucy was just hilarious. We stayed on the trampoline for quite a while since Lucy was having such a good time.

There also was some playing with foam blocks.

And, she got to hang out with other babies, which is one of her favorite things to do.

I can’t wait to take her to more places to play!

Family Time at Tellus

We had a fun family day at Tellus last Sunday as the in-laws came up for the final day of Rockfest.

The day started out with lunch. Joe and his dad had REALLY been looking forward to the barbecue from one of our local restaurants, which was a vendor at the event. Between that, my black bean burger, a HUGE plate of fresh potato chips and large glasses of fresh-squeezed lemonade, we were all stuffed. Lucy had yet another chance to taste lemon. I believe it’s still the only food on her “hate” list. 🙂

However, she didn’t really learn and kept leaning in for more every time Joe stretched his finger out toward her.

After lunch, we browsed some of the vendor booths and then headed inside to escape the insane heat. Not too long after, Rachel, Dave and Rivka showed up, and we all wandered around together. All the fun wore Lucy out!

Our last stop was the children’s area, where we put the babies on the floor and let them play. Rivka took all the toys! Rachel would ask if she wanted to share, and Rivka would look at her like she was thinking, “Yeah, right!”

The size difference between the two babies still amazes me!

And, for your viewing pleasure, a video of the girls playing.

We’re all getting together on Sunday for Father’s Day, and I’m excited to see the girls playing together again. I think they’re going to grow up to be good friends.

Paint Choices

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Glidden. All opinions are 100% mine.

We have some plans to paint! We are going to paint our kitchen and living room. And, when we get our new couch, our living room will look completely different and SO much better.

We’ve decided on some kind of sunny yellow for the kitchen and are thinking we most likely will go with a sage green for the living room. I still haven’t picked the exact shade for either room. It’s a big decision. I don’t want to have to re-paint because we picked the wrong shade.

Thank goodness for paint testers. For just a couple of dollars, you can buy a small container of paint to test the shade. How did I not know these were available?? I’m thinking I want to go with Glidden paint. I was SO impressed with them when I picked a shade off their website for Lucy’s room and it turned out to be the PERFECT shade of green. And, Glidden’s testers are awesome because they have a brush on the lid, which means I don’t have to buy a separate brush.

Another great aspect about Glidden is that you can see how a color will look in a room online by using the company’s room painter. I love being able to do this from home. Check it out here!

Now, I just need to pick a final color and get this painting party started!

The Scarlet ‘C’

I headed out to Publix early this morning to take advantage of a sale that, when paired with a coupon, made for free deodorant. I went to the Publix in Acworth because it was on my way to our mom’s group meetup, so I figured I could run in quickly, grab what I needed and be on my way.

Boy, was I wrong. When I got to the register and handed my coupons to the cashier, she glanced at them and then said, “You copied these coupons.”

Um, no. I told her I had printed them off my computer, and she replied, “Really? Because they look copied to me.”

And so, I had to wait there with a fussy baby while she got a manager so she could show her my “photocopied” coupons.

I’m the girl who wouldn’t even cheat on a test at school but I’m going to cheat the system and use photocopied coupons. Right.

Eventually, I left with my purchases and an apology that it had taken so long. How about an apology for accusing me of cheating?

Does this mean I have to wear a scarlet “C” now?

Mistaken Identity

When Joe went to pick up pictures at Wal-Mart:

Employee: I think your pictures are coming off the printer now. They’re of a little girl, right?

Joe: Yes.

Employee: OMG…she’s SO CUTE!!!

Joe: Thanks!

Employee had to get the manager to figure out how to ring up the pictures. The manager comes back, asks Joe his name and then grabs an envelope out of the drawer.

Manager: The pictures on the printer weren’t yours.
