on saturday afternoon, we decided to go hiking. i know that’s a terrible time to trek out in the 90-degree heat, but we didn’t let that deter us. we went to the newly opened pine mountain trail head. the trail has two heads, and the other had been open for quite a while. this section was opened a couple of months ago.
in high school and college, my friends and i would hike every sabbath afternoon, whether it was at red clay state park or at t-wall on signal mountain. it was always so much fun, so i was really excited about this.
about halfway up, we started getting winded and our enthusiasm started to wane. it was a long, what, mile and a half or so.
we made it up in pretty good time, considering we took pictures along the way, and i have to say, the view from the top was amazing. pine mountain is the second highest peak in bartow county, and the view was breathtaking. it was definitely worth the hike.
we met a friend on the trail, too.
we definitely will be hiking pine mountain again, both that trail and the other trail. we’re also going to be looking for other places in the area to hike. my legs sure were sore after our trek, but it was worth it to see some beautiful scenery and spend some good quality time together.

I will definitely check that trail out. That view is gorgeous!
yay! i love hiking! i went myself this weekend.
