Here’s an awesome contest for your kids. In my county, school system officials are trying to encourage out-of-county field trips by requiring schools to pay the mileage costs for any trips out of the area. It’s an affect of the cuts in state funding and increases in gas prices. According to a 2009 report from The American Association of School Administrators, the number of school districts throughout the county that will cut field trips is expected to grow by 56 percent.
Lunchables Lunch Combinations wants to help classes go on field trips that are inspiring and education, so they’re launching their program “Field Trips For All” through their new Project Potential initiative. Anyone who is 6-years-old or older can nominate a class by going to http://www.lunchables.com/potential/. Fifty classes will be selected to go on inspiring field trips. Check out this video by Project Potential.
So, are you going to nominate your kids’ class or classes? Are you going to encourage your kids to get involve and nominate a class? I don’t really know a lot of school-age kids, but if Lucy was in school I would definitely nominate her class! Feel free to pass this along to anyone you know who might want to nominate their kids’ classes too!
