I had to go to my PCP yesterday, and while I was there, I asked about going back on phentermine for a few months. I was on it a few years ago and had pretty good success with it, and I figured that combining that with exercise would boost my weight loss and help me be able to lose easier after I go off it.
The NP I saw said I would need an EKG before I could go back on it (strange, because I didn’t have one in the first place), and then suggested I go on a fat burning shot. I don’t remember what kind she said it was, but she said it would increase my energy and help me lose weight. I googled a bit yesterday and found reports that shots of phentermine worked well for weight loss while B12 shots didn’t. For some reason I was thinking she had mentioned B12 shots.
I go back in three weeks for a follow up, and I’ll definitely need to do more research on this and give it more thought. Have any of you heard of this kind of thing before?

I’ve never heard of that, but it sounds wonderful! lol!
I am currently on a six week program of lipotropic(fat burning shot) and B12 shots. I’ve had 3 shots so far and haven’t lost a pound! In fact, the last time I went and weighed I had gained a freaking pound! ARGH! I am also taking phentermine. I had a baby 5 months ago and have 35 lbs to lose. I was really hopeful when I started them, but I’m kinda losing that hope. I should exercise more, but with a baby it’s hard. I don’t really know if I would recommend them or not…

My SIL used to work in a weight loss clinic and what Julie said above, that is what they use too, the lipotropic and the B-12 shots. I’m pretty sure they promote healthy eating and exercise too. I know she ran into a patient the other day that used to weigh over 400 lbs and you would have never have known it.
Never herad of this but I’m curious. Let me know when you find out more.
I did this . I lost 9 lbs the first week and a half. The second week of shots I became very lethargic, no energy at all and no weight loss, then I began to get chest pains. I have never had chest pains in my ife before this. the doctor said it was all in my mind. The nurse told me several patients had complained of the same thing I was . I decided the doctor and the program was a crock
I do a lot of stamina and cardio work and I have heard that you don’t burn fat in cardio well at all, so I was looking for a sport that combines both fat burning and muscle building..
