Our Kiwanis Club’s annual Kiddie Day Parade was held a couple of weeks ago, and we had a great idea for Lucy’s costume — dress her up as a princess and cover her wagon in letters so she could be Princess Presto from Super Why!

It was a great idea in theory. However, Lucy didn’t want to sit in her wagon, so we nixed the “presto” part of her costume. She was still pretty adorable, though.

Joe had a great time walking in the parade with Lucy.

And, there were donuts. All that sugar made for one hyper little girl!

After the parade, the firefighters at the station across the street had the trucks out, and the kids had fun getting to sit in the fire trucks and meet the firefighters. Lucy was super shy, but she got a pink firefighters hat and looked a bit like Scarlett O’Hara when she wore it with her dress.

Oh yeah, and Tigger was in attendance also. Duh.

Lucy didn’t win a prize, but I loved how excitedly she cheered for those who did. When a group of kids dressed as Smurfs won the grand prize, Lucy jumped up and down and screamed and clapped. I love what a good sport she is. I hope that continues.

Now, it’s time to start thinking about a super awesome costume for next year!
