it’s been a long, exhausting day today, and it’s not even 1 p.m. we were up at 7 a.m. to drop my car off at firestone before i went in to work. the tire they put on most recently has had problems staying inflated. this is the third time we’ve taken it in. last weekend, it was flat a day after we got it back. i really hope they fixed it this time because this is getting old.
while they were working on my car, they noticed my car needed new front brakes, so we had them fix those too. we went, picked it up and headed on our merry way when i noticed a *very* loud clunking noise coming from the back of the car. it scared me to drive it, so we took it back. it turns out the rubber that sits between the spring and the other metal parts of the car was deteriorated and fell off while they were fixing the tire and brakes. none of this was mentioned to us, though, when we picked my car up. of course, i want to know why they didn’t noticed the rubber missing while they were working on my car and, if they did, why they didn’t mention it to us.
now, we have to take my car back tomorrow and hope the piece they need comes in from the ford dealer so i can get my car back. i really need it by tomorrow night since joe has to go back to work tuesday.
i am so ready to relax now.

Aren’t cars so stressful? Nothing ever gets done right the first time, it seems! I’ve just spent a huge chunk of time at the Kia dealership here over the last several days to figure out why my stupid check engine light keeps popping on. They can’t seem to figure it out, but keep reassuring me my car is just fine. Needless to say, I’m getting a tad irked at this point. Cars … *sigh*
I don’t know if I would have kept bringing it back to the same place! Hope it all is fixed and well for you.
I’m so sorry about your car! That totally sucks! 🙁
Hey, praying for you today … I hope that you will get the news that you’ve been wanting … dying to hear an update! 🙂
BTW ~ I *love* this blog design. Can I steal it? haha 🙂
My fiance is a mechanic and I can tell you, had anything happened to you while driving (and it could have!) that service station would have been in BIG trouble. It may not have been their fault that you needed a new part but they ARE obligated to inform you. Thank goodness you made it back there in one piece! And they definitely need to replace the tire!!! No more “fixing” it!!!
