we may not have come in first, but the wbhf newsbreakers had a strong showing at yesterday’s brain bowl, which was sponsored by the cartersville schools foundation. ten teams participated, and the top four were chosen after a written test. the newsbreakers scored the highest on that portion of the competition. the buzzer round was much harder than we thought it would be. it’s amazing how much easier it is when you’re sitting in the crowd! for many of the questions, we knew the answers we either were too slow in buzzing in or we didn’t think we had the right answer and didn’t want to chance it. we ended up coming in third overall, which we were still proud of. the team from the booth western art museum, which also is owned by our company, came in first. the executive director is *so* smart. he buzzed in before they had finished reading the questions and still got them right. our company also had a third team from tellus, the new science museum that is being built, in the competition, but they didn’t make it past the written test.
