the nurse at my doctor’s office called this morning and told me my lab work was normal. i guess that means i don’t have a thyroid problem, but i’ve decided i need to ask specifically when she calls back because when i asked about the pcos results she didn’t know. she called back just a minute ago, and i asked again. she said, “i don’t even know what that is. i think it’s an ovary something. i asked but i didn’t get an answer.”
sigh. so normal. maybe. possibly. still don’t know.

Can you not talk to an actual doctor? Or at the very least get them to send you your lab results so that you can look at them yourself? It’s so frustrating when someone clueless calls you with results and can’t answer any questions.
Sigh. I’m sorry honey…
The nurse at my OB/GYN’s office is so dense that she couldn’t even spell or pronounce the name of the tests my doctor verbally instructed her to order for me. No shocker here: she ordered the wrong tests. When I got to the lab, they delicately asked me if I had undergone a sex change becuase the tests she’d ordered were for men. Lovely. Needless to say, I have put in a request that only the doctor, not her nurse, return calls with test results. Ugh. I’ll cross my fingers everything comes back good. I have a lot of thyroid disease in my family and many of the symptoms but after running all the possible tests, my doctor maintains I have no thyroid problems. It is soooo frustrating!!!!!
I know that has to be so frustrating! I’d call the office back & ask for either someone more qualified than that nurse to call you or better yet, the dr. themselves! Hope you find out something soon.
So much for decent health care…
I’m sorry. SO frustrating!
ugh that just sucks… get a copy of the tests sent do you so you can go over them yourself/with your mom…
This obviously isn’t an OB’s office…or at least I hope not if she doesn’t know about PCOS.
