estelle getty died today. she was best known for her role as “sophia” on “the golden girls”, which is one of my favorite shows. she was by far my favorite character because of her witty sense of humor. she always made me laugh, especially when her insults to rose went right over rose’s head.

I’m a BIG fan of Golden Girls & I didn’t know that Estelle Getty had dies today 🙁 My fave character was a tie between Sophia & Rose, although I liked ALL of them 🙂
I watched The Golden Girls when I was in elementary school when it was originally running. I don’t know how someone that age got into that show, but I did, and I actually loved it.

oh my gosh, my friends and i used to watch golden girls re-runs between classes in college! i loved sophia.
I was *so* sad to hear about her passing. Jeff told me about it ~ he gets news updates through e-mail. She was *so* awesome!!! I loved “The Golden Girls.” We watched it every time it was on (and I still love the reruns!). My favorite? Hmm … probably Dorothy. I don’t know why. But I’m a HUGE Betty White fan.
I saw that on the news this morning & I was so sad. I watch GG every day with Ava. She loves the theme song, probably because I get really into it! I love all of the “girls” & I’m so sad! I am seriously so into it that I’ve even thought my next daughter’s name should be Sophia!
