today is my mom’s birthday, and she’s celebrating it up on the beach on the gulf shores! when i was growing up, people would tell me that i looked just like her and i’d joke and say, “well there goes my theory of being adopted!”

now, i’m honored when people tell me that my mom and i look alike. i’m so glad that we are not only mother and daughter now but also close friends. she’s an awesome mom and grandmother. i know my children will be lucky to have her in my life just as i have been.
