Our coworkers threw us such an awesome baby shower last week. It was better than I could have imagined. When we walked into the private dining room at Joe’s work, we saw tables decorated in our nursery colors with these super cute centerpieces.
One woman cut out four animals, dressed them in onesies and put them in baskets with a burp cloth and with diapers filling out the empty space. The one on our table was dressed in a onesie that said “I love mommy” since Joe mentioned that we have had a HARD time finding baby girl onesies that say that. Apparently little girls only love their daddies. 🙂 They were so cute and so original! The boxes surrounding the centerpieces were favor boxes filled with candies and mints.
There was an amazing spread for lunch — veggies, tortillas and deli meat for wraps; a huge platter of fruit, chips and guacamole; pasta salad; meatballs; crackers and cheese; and a lot of other things. Everything was so good!
We also had an amazing and delicious cake — chocolate with chocolate icing. Yum! The blocks that spell “baby” are each squares of angel food cake. One of our coworkers made the cake, and I think she did a fabulous job.
Lucy got so many gifts. She was spoiled! We got most of the items off one of our registries, and we got a lot of cash and gift cards which will either be used for things we didn’t get or for diapers and formula. There are a few “fun” things off the registry I want to make sure we get, such as the jumperoo and tummy time mat.
We also got several monogrammed items, my favorite of which is a diaper cover with Lucy’s name on the back. It is so adorable!!
And, the woman who made our cake also is making a quilt for Lucy. When she’s born, she will add her name, weight and length before finishing it. It is so neat and thoughtful. I was blown away.
That night, I spent an hour putting gifts away in the nursery and still didn’t finish! I couldn’t believe all the bags we had to bring in.
We had such an amazing day with all of our work friends, and we feel so blessed to have so many people who care about us and Lucy.
That is just wonderful!!! I enjoyed looking at the Flickr pictures. What an incredible shower and *so* nice of them! Little Lucy will certainly have plenty of wonderful things to wear and play with! Have fun setting everything up in the nursery! How are you feeling?

Awesome! How blessed you must feel. It looks like a wonderful place to work with people who care so much about you. That is so nice of the woman to go through all that work to make a quilt. It will be a keepsake for sure!
