Eight Months

Dear Lucy,
I was thinking the other day how in just four short months we will be celebrating your first birthday. I still can’t believe how fast it’s coming up, and I don’t know where the time has gone.

You have changed SO much in just a month. You stand all.the.time. now. No matter where we put you, we know you’ll pull yourself up to your feet in a matter of minutes. And, you are a crawling machine! You are SO fast, and you just take off. You keep us on our toes!

Also at 8 months, you had your first swimming lessons! You LOVED it. You are defintely going to be a little fish. In fact, you already are. You amazed your teacher with your kicking, and when I dunked during the first class, you didn’t mind at all.

You said your first word this month — Dada! You also say “Baba”. I’m really working hard with you to say “Mama”. I know it will come soon, seeing as how I’m your favorite parent and all. 🙂 And, you have TWO teeth! You’re not too happy about this. I know they’re pretty painful, but it’s so cute seeing two little toofers in your mouth when you smile.

We had a lot of fun this month. We’ve been doing a lot more with our play group, which you love. You also experienced your first “Night at the Museum” at Tellus. You had a blast!

Other stats at 8 months:

You wear 6 month and 6-9 month clothing. You mainly wear 6-9 month in onesies. You’re still in 6 month shirts, pants and dresses.

We think you weigh somewhere between 16 and 17 pounds. I’m so excited to find out your actual weight in a few months.

You’re not a big fan of juice. We were told we could start giving you a little bit, but you don’t care for it yet. Maybe we’ll try another flavor.

You are starting to like Gerber puffs more and more. You still make faces when you eat them, but you keep opening your mouth for more.

We love you more than we can ever say. You are just so much fun and such a joy (yes, even with your teething!). I cannot imagine our lives without you.
