dear csx train conductor,
please.stop.parking.your.train.in.the.middle.of.downtown. seriously. in case you can’t figure it out, blocking all the exits from downtown puts us in a lurch. it means we have to drive *around* downtown, which wouldn’t be all that bad if everyone.else.in.town. wasn’t doing it too. in the amount of time it would have taken me to get home tonight, i drove only four blocks. it’s bad enough that you come through town everyone 10 minutes (yes, we’ve timed you. i’m giving you credit here because in the mornings there is even less time between trains), but do you have to block us all in too? and, if you’re going to move, could you please wait until *after* i have gone around downtown and am out of sight? then i could at least feel like dealing with the horrendous traffic and ill-timed signals was worth it. thanks.

dear driver stopped at green light,
just an fyi, green means go. you must not go through this intersection often because it has a 45-second cycle in the direction i go and you would know this. you would not sit at the green light for half of its cycle and then decide to turn, ensuring that you would be the only car to go through and making the rest of us sit through at least one more cycle (because for some reason the light going the other direction stays green longer). next time, just drive.

TURN YOUR FREAKING MUSIC DOWN. SERIOUSLY. IT IS GETTING OLD. IF I CAN HEAR IT IN MY HOUSE WITH MY TELEVISION ON, IT IS TOO LOUD. IF YOU CANNOT HEAR ME *POUNDING* ON YOUR DOOR, IT IS TOO LOUD. TURN IT DOWN. IF I HAVE TO KEEP LISTENING TO THE OBNOXIOUS POUNDING OF THE BASS I AM GOING TO LOSE IT.

#1: it doesn’t matter if it’s a fact of city life. there is no reason for the train to stop multiple times a day, and it’s annoying. it’s my blog, and if i want to vent, i will.
#2: i was about 3-4 cars down the line, so i really couldn’t honk.
#3: calling the cops doesn’t work. the last time we called, when our felon neighbor, who had warrants out for his arrest, came back, the cops took two hours to come. by then he was long gone.
