For those of you coming here from Ultimate Blog Party 2011, welcome! This is my first year participating in this event. So, let me tell you a little bit about myself.
My name is Cady. I just turned 31, and I am a print-turned-broadcast journalist. I am married to my awesome hubby, Joe, and we have a beautiful daughter, Lucy Jane.
Joe and I met in 2004. We met through email for a story I was working on and became email friends from that. We had a mutual friend (I worked with her, and she and Joe went to college together), so we went on a double date with her and her then-boyfriend. The rest, as they say, is history. Joe proposed to me in January 2006, and we were married on September 3, 2006.
We are big baseball fans, and we went to Boston for our honeymoon with the sole purpose of going to a Red Sox game. It was the best trip ever.
After a year of marriage, we started trying to get pregnant. We tried. And tried. And tried. And got no where. We met with a reproductive endocrinologist in the winter of 2008, and in March 2009 we did IVF. My pregnancy test was scheduled for my birthday, March 26, so we took a HPT the night before. It was the best birthday present ever.
Lucy was born on November 21, 2009, 12 days before her due date.
We would love to have one more child in the future, but for now, we are enjoying our little girl. We are blessed to be her parents.
