Yesterday was the 20-week point in our pregnancy. I celebrated with swollen feet. And, when I say swollen I mean so puffy they were incredibly painful and it was hard for me to walk. Today, they’re less painful when I’m sitting down but still hurt quite a bit when I walk. I’m spending the day on the couch with them propped up, which actually works out great since there’s a monsoon going on outside. Not optimal beach time. 🙂
I wonder how much of the swelling is from the pregnancy and how much is from other factors like, say, the sunburn I got on my feet and the fact that I twisted my right ankle. However, since my whole feet are swollen, I have to think that it’s not from twisting my ankle.
So, yes, I’m starting out the second half of this pregnancy feeling quite attractive. On the bright side, I have a pretty good excuse to wear flip flops to work. 🙂
In other baby news, I have been feeling Lucy moving around a lot more. I haven’t felt anymore kicks, but I feel more flutters during the day than I used to. It’s a lot of fun, and it always makes me smile. I can’t wait to feel kicks that are unmistakably kicks. Until then, I’m quite happy feeling her little flutters and being reminded at how awesome it is that there is a little life growing inside me.

First, you are VERY attractive! Second, there’s nothing wrong with spending part of your vacation relaxing. Third, Lucy loves playing “Kick Mom.” Fourth, did I mention how attractive you are?
Most likely you are, but just in case… drink a LOT of water! I was a soda drinker during my pregnancy many moons ago and swollen, honey you would not believe it….!! Much more water 🙂
Smudge is going to make sure that she keeps you guessing.
It is not fun swelling up but water is your best friend at this point.
You will love it feeling the kicks! My son started moving so early and I got excited everytime haha. I must say this every time but good luck!
COngrats on 20 weeks!! That’s awesome
I took into work a stool to prop my feet up to help ease the swelling… you might wanna do that too… but I never had this with Lore but wait till the kid makes contact with your lungs and you about fall over because you can’t breathe lol… OY!
I cannot believe how far along you are already, time is flying! Congrats on being able to wear flops to work! 🙂
