Let’s talk about plastic surgery. This has been on my mind a lot lately. I used to *never* be a fan of cosmetic surgery. I didn’t see any point in having my body altered like that. However, I’m beginning to have fewer reservations about it. I’ve been thinking for a while that I would like to have liposuction. I get *so* frustrated with working out consistently and seeing nothing in return besides weight gains. I’ve never had a flat stomach, and that’s the one thing I want. Like I’ve told Joe, I’ll take large hips and thighs if I could just have a flat stomach.
I’ve had a couple people I know have cosmetic surgery done, but they were both breast reduction surgeries. I don’t know anyone who’s had liposuction or a tummy tuck or anything like that. One thing that has spurred my thinking even more about this is that one of the local education foundations has liposuction as a silent auction prize at an upcoming fundraiser.
I toy with the idea, but I don’t know if I would actually go through with it. I’d have to really research the doctor performing it (although, there are several doctors who the djs on the radio station I listen to promote). It’s a big decision because it’s a big procedure.
What are your thoughts on plastic surgery? Would you have it done? If not, why? If so, what would you like to have done?
I am OK with surgery in some instances. For instance, when people lose a ton of weight and they can’t ditch the extra skin, or when a mom has nursed and needs a breast lift. I am not much for Botox since injecting poison into my skin isn’t really my thing. A friend of mine had lipo and it didn’t work. She explained to me that her doctor told her that once they suck the fat out, the new fat is forced to go to another location so if you’re gentically predisposed or don’t exercise and eat healthy religiously, you’re likely to have some disfigurement.
I always dreamed of getting a boob job so my clothes would fit better but my mom said she’d disown me. I think anything in moderation is fine. Due to a hernia and three c-sections my mom literally NEEDS a tummy tuck. I wouldn’t begrudge her one for a second!

I had my nose done back in 2000, would do it again in a heartbeat too! I’ve tossed around the idea of getting my boobs lifted and a tummy tuck done. I almost had a tuck done in 2002, when I had my hysterectomy, but there wasn’t time to schedule appts. Oh well. I’m pretty happy overall with my body, it’s getting more toned at the gym.
