I’ve really gotten into couponing. I used to think it was a waste of time because, well, you only save a little bit on each purchase anyway, but I now have seen how wrong I was. I spent time every week now cutting out coupons, organizing the ones I’ll use in my coupon binder and putting others aside to trade on coupon trading rings.

My shopping trip for the last two weeks was my best ever. I got $166 worth of groceries for $88. I was kind of bummed because I really wanted my total to be around $50, but in retrospect, I think I did pretty darn good.

My first shopping trip of the pay period: $61 worth of groceries, which I got for $14. I stocked up on things we use since they were on super sale and I had awesome coupons.

That’s 12 cans of soup, 10 boxes of macaroni and cheese, 4 loaves of garlic bread, 4 jars of spaghetti sauce and 2 cans of vegetables. I got the garlic bread for a total of $0.60. Score!
It’s like a game for me every time I go grocery shopping to see how little I can get my groceries for. This time, my goal again is $50 for the two weeks. We’ll see how close I come.

How exciting!! I cut coupons but haven’t figured out how to get such great deals like all you girls down south!
Love it! Love saving $$!!!
Excellent work! I look at coupons too but the problem is they are only ever for things we buy at Costco, and Costco is still cheaper than the regular store with coupons. So I almost never end up using any. Very unfortunate!
Cady,
I am very much into couponing in fact with a mortgage and daycare I need too… What grocery store do you shop at?
I follow many blogs that post deals on local stores but many others that are far away…. Your in Atlanta right, please share the name of the stores you frequently shop at and I will see if I can provide a few good blogs to follow..
I stockpile, only buy items on sale so I can get what O need for pennies on the dollar. I have a special closet for what we need. I do buy chicken when it’s on sale and freeze it. Beef and fish, that has to be fresh or it’s just gross.
Buy a few extra Sunday papers, do you have a discounted Early Edition? Is there a local Sunday edition that is cheap but has the coupon inserts? Dis you know you could buy extra coupons or the whole inserts for weeks that are great? Also Pampers/Huggies they are often better to purchase at Rite Aid or CVS than a whole sale club….
Please e-mail me privately at cappadonas@comcast.net
I will help you increase your savings, this year I am putting a new roof on my house with $ saved from using coupons, plus i have a new car fund in place already too…
Us Mom’s need to stick together.

Great Value, my guess is Walmart!
Am I correct? Another tip- Walmart does not double coupons. Do you have a store that does double coupons?
It really helps…
