Joe had to work on Sunday, so after having lunch with him at the museum, Lucy and I loaded up and headed to Atlanta for a Family Day at Georgia Public Broadcasting. Lucy was super psyched to be meeting Curious George and Buddy from Dinosaur Train again.

I’m a nerd because I was pretty amazed at the number of satellite dishes behind the GPB building.

We were there super early and got a space right by the elevator. We took it down to the ground floor and were at GPB!

Since we were there so early, we got a head start on the crafts. There were plates to color, a dinosaur made out of a paper lunch bag, Super Why character masks and Curious George coloring sheets. Lucy was in heaven. She even ended up with two masks — Super Why and Alpha Pig.

The event was part of the Children of Uganda tour, so at 3 p.m., we all headed into the auditorium for a show. The dancing was amazing. Lucy was enthralled.

We headed out after 40 minutes because the seating wasn’t exactly kind to my arthritis. We hung out in the lobby, and it really ended up being a good thing that we didn’t sit through the entire thing because we got in line to see Buddy and Curious George before everyone else got out. We waited probably about 10 minutes after the characters came out. Lucy was beyond excited. All day she had been saying, “Buddy! Buddy!” My girl also cried when I had to drag her away from them. Everyone thought that was cute.

Sidenote: It is hard to get two characters who are completely different sizes in the same pictures. Just sayin’.

After we saw Buddy and George, we headed home. This pretty much sums up our trip:

When we got home, Lucy showed her daddy her loot. Please pardon the rest of the mess on my floor. 🙂 I can’t keep anything straightened up with a toddler around!

We had a busy day, but it was fun getting to spend a little mommy/daughter time together.
