joe and i aren’t big fans of the local hospital, and trust me, we’ve spent plenty of time there. so much, in fact, that i thought we should get married there. haha.
the last time joe was there, he was being prepped for an emergency appendectomy. that never happened. however, when the nurse was putting in his iv, he went right throught he vein. that has made joe a little afraid of needles, not that i can blame him.

yesterday, as the nurse was preparing to put in his iv, joe told him about his last experience. the nurse pushed in the needle, checked the iv bag and said, “crap, i went through the vein.”
i started laughing because i thought he was joking. he wasn’t. poor joe. i don’t think he’ll ever give blood again.
that nurse didn’t have much of a sense of humor. when joe came out of the bathroom, he asked the nurse to let him by so he could wash his hands.
“i know you’re big on that here,” joe joked.
the nurse looked at him and said, “well, handwashing is the best way to prevent infection…”
lighten up, man. it’s called a joke.

Poor Joe. I was never afraid of needles when I was a kid, but I had a staph infection when I was 15 and was on IV antibiotics for 3 weeks. They messed up the IV so many times that I’m forever freaked out by them now. Ouch!
Is this hospital local to you now, or local to you when you lived here?? I’m curious.
it’s here in cartersville. no worries. 🙂
