It’s not looking good for “Ugly Betty”. The show is going on hiatus, and its primetime Thursday night slot will be filled with “Samantha, Who?” and “In the Motherhood”, a new show starring Megan Mullally from “Will and Grace”. The viewership for “Ugly Betty” has bounced around this season, starting at 8 million, dropping down to 3.6 million and then rising back to 7.5 million, which is still down from last season’s 9 million viewers.
ABC officials say the show will return in June, which is after the fall season lineup ends, which doesn’t look good. However, network executives have said the show isn’t being cancelled and will be back next season.
I hope it will, but I’m not counting on it until I see it on next season’s listings. Are any of you “Betty” fans? What do you think about this?
I never really got into watching Ugly Betty but I guess if you followed along from week to week you’d get to know the characters and story line and get caught up in the drama.

I’ve only seen one episode so I guess I’m not a fan…but only becasue I am usually asleep by then..I know…rock on with the fun lifestyle…
I love Ugly Betty! I also love Samatha Who? And I hope Lipstick Jungle doesn’t get cancelled. I watch too much tv.
Ugly Betty is underappreciated. Very tongue in cheek. Yeah, I’m a guy and watch it. What of it? 🙂
I tried to watch Ugly Betty once, but I really, really disliked it. I do like Samantha Who, it’s a cute and quick, two things I appreciate in a tv show.
Not an Ugly Betty fan, but I know that once your a fan of a show you cant wait until the next season. I have so many shows that I enjoy and hopefully none of them will get cancelled.
I love that show… and Eli Stone… but with both shows they show a few eps and then put something else on and so on… well that is going to mess with viewership… I will cry if they get rid of Ugly Betty…
I really like the show! I can’t believe the turns the plot has taken with her dad this season though. I want to see more of her doing the writing thing, vs. being an asst. to Daniel. We’ve watched it since the beginning, so I would definitely miss it!
I love Ugly Betty. They can’t cancel until she starts to get “less ugly!” Time to take the braces off, I think!
