When I first heard of Boudreaux’s Butt Paste, I thought the name was hilarious. Any kind of diaper cream called butt paste is awesome in my book.
Since Lucy’s been sleeping through the night, she seems to be getting diaper rash more often because she doesn’t wake up for a diaper change. She would much rather sleep in a dirty diaper than wake up. That’s my girl! I really don’t like diaper rash cream because it’s so messy, and it seems like it’s so hard to get it off my fingers. I feel like they smell like the cream for quite a while afterward. I’ve been thinking about trying Boudreaux’s Butt Paste. From what I’ve read, it’s supposed to be easier to clean up and is supposed to smell better than regular diaper creams. I got a sample once from Lucy’s doctor’s office, but now I have no idea where it is. I’d be interested in comparing it to the creams that we’ve been using.
What do or did you use for diaper rash for your kids? Have you ever tried Boudreaux’s Butt Paste? If so, what did you like or not like about it, and would you recommend it?
It’s my favorite. IMO, the creams tend to soak in way to quickly, not giving the rash area time to heal. The butt paste doesn’t soak in, which provides a barrier between the diaper & the rash. Alexa’s been battling a really bad rash this week due to teething & I could find my butt paste. We tried 4 different types of cream that we had around. I finally found the butt paste & it cleared right up.
Once we found Boudreaux’s, that’s all we ever used with our boys. I agree, it forms a nice barrier and stays put. It doesn’t smell as bad as the other products either!

I will be the voice of dissent when it comes to Butt Paste. I tried it when Avery was a baby and found it to be gritty. It also didn’t stay where I put it, if that makes sense. We tried A&D and we’ve never looked back.
All that being said, that was almost five years ago, so their formula may have changed. Definitely give it a go!
