Aargh! Ahoy mateys. Tis National Talk Like a Pirate Day. So I’ve done my duty and talked like a pirate. Now, onto other things like, oh, our trip. We have finally arrived in Warren, Ohio, after two long days of driving. Well, they really only took longer than expected because of planned detours, which I’ll talk about later, but still. I’m tired of riding. Joe won’t let me say I’m tired of driving because I didn’t drive (though I offered!).
So, we finally made it. From the hotel’s Web site and the price that we paid just with the discounted rate, I expected a four-star hotel. This most definitely is not. It looks very nice from the outside and in the lobby, but that’s where it ends. The walls are *so* thin that we can hear *everything* going on in the rooms next door, which could make for some interesting stories because I don’t know if the people next door to us have realized that yet. It also makes for a hard time sleeping. And the loud noise coming from the air conditioner doesn’t help that. Neither does the fact that the curtains don’t close all the way (and we face the parking lot).
I’m a little disappointed, but it’s ok. It’s not going to ruin the fun of the weekend, even though I’m sure I will be sleep deprived. I’m about to pass out right now. Hopefully we’ll be able to get to bed before midnight tonight.
One fabulous thing about this hotel, though, is the *huge* pool downstairs. Joe and I plan to make good use of that tomorrow. I’m dying to swim laps. It’s fun, and it’s a great way to exercise.
I guess I need to go start getting ready for tonight’s activities. I’ll leave you with a cute picture of us from the Great American Ball Park.
