This week for Show Us Your Life at Kelly’s Korner, we are sharing our baby names. I am not one of those women who has always known what she would name her children. Even after we found out we were pregnant with a little girl, I went back and forth between a few names. However, I kept coming back to Lucy. I fell in love with that name after interviewing a girl named Lucy several years ago and, since it’s not super common, I thought it was perfect. Also, it goes very well with my paternal grandmother’s middle name, Jane, which I wanted to use for Lucy’s middle name. Using family names are very important to us.
We already have our names picked out for baby #2, even though we aren’t planning on getting pregnant again for several years. If we have a boy, we’re going to name him Cooper Douglass after both of our maternal grandparents. If we have another little girl, we will name her Ella Claire. Neither of those are family names. I just really like the name Ella.
So, what about you? For those of you who either don’t have kids yet or hope to have another child in the future, what names do you like?

I love the name Cooper! 😀
I actually had Claire pegged as one of our names – but then my cousin named her baby Claire. Same happened with Charlotte. Aaah! I guess that’s the downside to being one of the younger family members – sometimes you get pipped to the post.
I keep my names a little secret now (crazy, right?) just in case, haha. Few more years to wait yet…
Love Ella Claire! Beautiful name!
I love Ella Claire…
we are not planning another one anytime soon (if at all) so we don’t have any other names selected.
We’re waiting a while to try for #2 as well. For girl names, we like Samantha and Whitney…middle name would be Jane (;-)) for my husband’s mother. Not sure what we would pick if we have another boy. I LOVE the name Drew, but my husband is big on initials and didn’t like Drew P (sounds like droopy).
One of my friends has a daughter named Ella Claire…very pretty. They usually call her by both names.
We have no idea what we’d name another child. We probably won’t have another, so I don’t think about it much.
