Whew. I BARELY made it under my $40/week goal this week. I actually got my Hefty coupon wrong when I first typed this, making my total $41.23. But, after I realized my mistake, it lowered my total by $1.50. Yay!

I spent $16 today at Publix – definitely more than I thought I was going to spend – and I discovered after I left that I was charged full price for the Barilla Plus Farfalle that was stacked near a 2/$3 sign. However, I think it may have been put in the right spot since the other Barilla Plus pastas were marked at $2.39. In any case, I should have checked more carefully before putting it in my cart. Lesson learned.

This week, I made two trips to Kroger and one to Publix. I found some great $0.50/2 peelies on the Pillsbury Toaster Strudels that are BOGO this week at Publix, so I may try to make some more room in my freezer so I can get some more before the sale ends next week. I may also try to snag some more of the hair care products I found on clearance at Kroger.

This week, I spent $39.73 for $98.14 worth of items, a savings of 60%. It’s definitely not my best savings ever, but with the mistake I made with the Barilla pasta (and not realizing the Nutrigrain Eggos were more expensive than the regular ones), I’m OK with it. And, I’m still within my goal, which is all that really matters in the first place!
