i usually have a rough time with allergies. they hit me year round, and therefore i usually sniff a lot. i try not to do it as much as possible, but sometimes it can’t be helped. today when i was anchoring the news, i had to sniff while a soundbite was playing. that’s not unusual. however, today i forgot to turn the mic *off* beforehand. i thought i had . . . and then i heard myself in my headphones. sigh. in other work-related news, one of the city managers i work with died today. i’m still in shock....
