last weekend we headed to south carolina to celebrate nana’s 79th birthday. we ended up leaving late, so we didn’t arrive until 2:30 a.m. that means we didn’t join nana, joe’s mom, and dave and rachel for peach picking saturday morning. we were too tired. we spent most of saturday sleeping! we woke up around 10:30, visited until after lunch and then crashed again until 30 minutes before we had to leave for dinner!
we went to this really nice restaurant and met up with about 20 family members and friends. it was a lot of fun. the south carolina side of joe’s family kept asking about the wedding and figuring out how long it would take to drive to chattanooga. it was fun. i can’t believe how close it is!
nana got a serving of apple crisp with a candle for her birthday, which was passed around so everyone could have a bite.
after dinner, everyone headed back to nana’s for cake and presents. our gift, the game nanaperation, was the hit of the night. we adapted the operation game for nana since she’s had some surgeries recently. everyone loved it! people could not stop laughing. i have to admit, joe did well!
