there’s never a dull moment here at casa schulman. remember our neighbor, the felon? he and his girlfriend are gone. they took off last wednesday after being almost two months behind in rent, leaving behind a house they pretty much destroyed. holes were punched in walls, one door was completely ruined, cigarette burns were all over the carpet, and there was cat feces in the bedrooms. plus, they left all their children’s toys and pictures, as well as a laundry room completely full of dirty clothes.
good riddence. i have to admit i was happy to hear that he was gone. the home owners feel like they’ve been duped because his girlfriend’s references checked out, and they didn’t know anything about him until the lease had been signed. they’re going to be a lot stricter now with the next person they rent to, including requiring a criminal background check. i can’t say that i blame them.
but, the fun hasn’t ended. the house to the left of us was for sale, and one day the sign was gone. we hadn’t heard if it had sold or if the owner had rented it out, but there now are two frat boys living there. they have beer bottles lined up on their window sills (i wish i could get a picture to share with you), and their *loud* music is about to drive me insane. a couple of days ago, it woke joe up at 4:30 a.m., and yesterday i was up at 7 a.m. because of it. for the last week or so i could feel my house vibrating from the bass (and it’s not like we’re right up against each other). this morning when the music woke me at 6:30 after getting home around midnight from working the election, i was ready to let them have it. luckily, joe went next door instead and asked them to turn it down. i’ve had a quiet day so far, so hopefully the problem is taken care of.
don’t you all wish you lived on our street??
Oh no! How unfair! Just when the felons had gone!
One extreme to the other huh?
Gosh, sorry you guys are having to go thru that! I hope it gets better soon! Nothing like loud thumping bass to give you insomnia/wake you up, huh?
Good grief! You should just call the cops from now on about the noise. That is just ridiculous! Most partiers play their music at night…not early in the morning.
Next time, don’t risk your safety or Joe’s on what could be felons, just call the cops! It is terrible what a few bad people can do to a neighborhood. I will cross my fingers the wannabe rock stars give it a break.
