Zaxby’s — Eatonton, Ga.

The bathroom was very clean, but the toilet paper holder was on the same side as the door opened inward, which made it incredibly awkward to get in. I hit my hip several times! It would have been much better if the toilet paper holder had been on the other side.

Zaxby’s — Thomson, Ga.

Again, the bathroom was quite clean (Zaxbys is good about that), but this restaurant got a 4 out of 5 because I used the handicapped stall rather than the regular stall, so I didn’t get to see how the location of the toilet paper holder compared to the way the door opened.

Zaxby’s — Covington, Ga.

This Zaxby’s was by far the best we visited. It was clean (no surprise there), and the toilet paper holder was in a location that made it quite easy to get in and out. I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant.

Our trip home from South Carolina took us almost 8 hours yesterday, which is due in large part to the fact that we had to stop at almost every exit for me to go to the bathroom. If I wasn’t dealing with infertility, I would swear that I was pregnant!

We did make several stops along the way, the first of which was a flea market on our way out of South Carolina. It was both unimpressed and incredulous at what was being sold. Items ranged from posters of Barack Obama to OTC medicine to shampoo and conditioner to low grade porn. Quite a variety, huh?

The produce area made us laugh. One booth’s owner couldn’t decide how to spell “pecan”.

Then, there was the vidalia onion booth. At least I’ve always *thought* they were vidalia onions.

We also took a detour in Augusta. I needed to stop anyway, so we decided to drive into the downtown area. I was surprised at how much it reminded me of downtown Chattanooga. They are eerily similar.

We spent about 45 minutes walking around downtown and taking pictures. There were only a few businesses open, but we really didn’t mind the lack of activity.

The first thing I noticed was the nicely landscaped median. It’s like a park in the middle of the road!

There also are several fountains, which I loved. I think fountains are so pretty.

Augusta Commons is nestled in between two buildings in downtown, and it’s such a pretty place to go for a weekend picnic, especially on a Sunday afternoon when there’s hardly any traffic. I also got to get on my soapbox!

Also located in downtown are the NBC/CW station and the Augusta Chronicle. I was kind of surprised by that, because typically media outlets are located on side streets or just outside the city.

We decided we definitely want to go back to Augusta for a weekend trip. There is so much more to see there!
