Hello, morning sickness. It’s nice to meet you. I’m glad you showed up because it means my baby’s alive and kicking, but I sure hope you don’t stay long!
Holy cow, am I sick today. It started right after the city council meeting I covered this morning. Up until now, I’ve had only two bouts of nausea, both of which were from food aversions. Today, though, was full on, unprovoked nausea. I’m nursing a ginger ale and nibbling on Saltines, neither of which are helping.
I’ve had friends say that morning sickness usually doesn’t kick in until week 6, but I’ve been looking online and seen that, while it can hit anytime during the beginning of the pregnancy, it’s more likely during week 5 or 6. I’m 5 weeks and 2 days today. I guess my baby’s just a little overachiever.
Really, though, I welcome this. It means things are going on inside my belly and that my baby is growing. I can’t wait to see it next week on the ultrasound. Seeing that heartbeat will really put my mind at ease.
I had it from the time I found out I was pregnant (with the oldest) until week 13! I didn’t have any with the second one. 🙂

I’m so sorry. 🙁 That part of pregnancy sucks, and I don’t envy you. Have you thrown up? Hopefully not. But yes, it’s SO good to know that things are going how they should! It’s INCREDIBLE when you hear that first heartbeat and see the U/S. I know you’re going to be in tears ~ I was! 🙂 Just awesome. If you can handle it, try some apple cider vinegar mixed with apple juice. It’s nasty, but it does help. And ice water with ice cubes and lemon. That helped me. Oh, and I started feeling a little icky with both pregnancies around 8 weeks or so.
I used to go to work with my saltines everyday too, I also found ice chips helped! Just YAY your sick…that sounds so wrong, LOL! Congrats again 🙂
You’ll probably get a million remedies here but….try lemon. However you can stand it, it works. I even sucked on lemon drops and it made me feel so much better. I worked in a restaurant when I got preggo with my oldest son…talk about nausea!!
It’s probably the only kind of sickness that is ok!
