Joe and I are participating in our city’s annual 5k Turkey Trot tomorrow. It starts at 8 a.m., which means we need to be there by 7 a.m. I don’t even want to think about how cold it will be. Joe says it’s ironic that I’m participating because I don’t eat turkey and I can’t trot. But, at least I’m getting out there and walking it! It may take me twice as long as Joe, but I can do three miles in pretty good time. This is the second “race” I’ve done, and I’m pretty excited about it. But, like I told Joe, I’m just doing it for the shirt! Joe has orders to come in first for his age group. The winners of each age bracket get a frozen turkey. We’re going to donate it either to a community dinner being held tomorrow or, if they don’t have enough time to cook it, to our local homeless shelter.

Very cool! I imagine you will stay warm as long as you are moving. Not that I would know. I have never done a walk let alone a trot. Good luck and have fun.
You’ll do great honey. Kick butt!
You’ll do fine, a 5K isn’t THAT bad, plus when you’re moving you won’t notice the cold, just dress in layers!
Lol what a great event! Cold turkey for the winner…too bad it’s not cooked already.
Heh, heh… the Turkey Trot – what a creative name! Good for you for taking part even though you don’t like turkey 🙂
We don’t have that kind of celebration here… I wish we have one..For sure it is really fun! 🙂
You’ll do fine~just make sure you bundle up (it’s been a LONG time since it’s been this cold in Georgia this early into the winter season 🙂 That’s so awesome that you decided to donate the turkey~very admirable 🙂 Good luck & let us know how it goes~& stay warm 🙂
Burrrrr!! You are very brave to run in trot in the cold!!! We are going to hide under the covers and be warm!! That is very nice of you to donate your Turkey if you should win one!!
Your FL furiends,
Hey girl~ Got your message in FF. This is a cute one, “did it for the shirt?” Ha~ I like that.

You should be so proud! And to be able to run the last mile, awesome. I really admire you.
I love the name! And good for you, even if you’re not running, you’re moving!
